Highlights include the accommodation, location, cleanliness, and reception staff. Perfect! Everything good in those areas is great, but the breakfast is the opposite.
Poor service! Plus, some bad sandwiches that don't match the otherwise wonderful hotel. It really makes me think about not returning JUST because of the breakfast and the restaurant staff!

The hotel is excellent, really clean and comfortable. The room had a good size, we got a great welcome bag with nice things that we enjoyed a lot. All the staff are very kind and efficient. The feeling was that we were in a fancy hotel but the price was great for the localization.
Breakfast could be better. The agreement with the restaurant is a great idea but the quality and option were a downside (not hotel's fault). We had a meny with 4 free options + tip over the price. So not 100% free. The options were okay, but the second day the toast had an old/burned oil taste. Beverages option were only apple or orange juice and coffee. They were good though.

Great location near Times Square. Easy check in/check out. Lovely staff at reception and cleaning staff, all very helpful.
Breakfast - choice is extremely limited and service is terrible. We paid for the "breakfast included" option. This offers you 3 options and anything outside of that, you have to pay extra. The service every morning we were there was chaotic! Staff running around, not knowing what they were doing. Senior staff giving out to new staff members, openly in front of hotel guests. We left breakfast frustrated every morning.

For a 10-day stay, we can give the hotel a reliable rating. Friendly service at the front desk, good housekeeping, and very friendly housekeeping staff who were able to accommodate our presence in the room. Nice, thick bathrobes. A nice gift from the hotel on arrival. Bottled water was readily available at the front desk at any time. The hotel's greatest asset is its location, as it's right in the heart of Manhattan but fortunately not in the heart of Times Square. Our room faced the courtyard, and although it overlooked another wall and windows, it was truly quiet. The hotel has two elevators, and they always worked quickly and efficiently. The Lantern's Keep bar is surprisingly nicely designed, with friendly service and good cocktails.
Our room was small, and we knew it. However, the bathroom door was poorly placed. It had to be kept closed at all times to function. The rest of the room was okay, although the furniture is old and worn. For such a long stay, we decided that the lack of daylight was another drawback. A dark room is fine for two or three days. The hotel's weakest point (and why we downgraded our rating) was the breakfast. We went for breakfast maybe 4 times in 10 days. The service was terrible, slow, with persistent order errors and a poor selection. Sometimes we even had to wait a very long time just for coffee. When booking the hotel through Booking.com, we were informed that breakfast was available on a grab-and-go basis, which would have been fine for us. Wasting time on such a poor breakfast is pointless. Generally, It's not a four-star experience.

We stayed in an executive suite which consisted of two large rooms -- a sitting area with two chairs and a sofa bed and a king size bed room. The location was ideal for sightseeing and theaters and was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was delicious with several hot options and fresh croissants.
Breakfast was a little chaotic when lots of guests arrived at once. But the food was delicious and the waitstaff was very friendly and accomodating.

Great location, other than that I had a frightening and horrific experience!
I booked six nights after a promised free airport taxi, I informed the hotel of my late arrival and arrived at 5 a.m., where the driver demanded $140, The hotel was locked. I waited and knocked for 20 minutes in the middle of the night before a man claiming to be the hotel general manager opened the door, He was aggressive and abusive, denied any responsibility, and threatened to refuse check-in unless I paid, I had no choice, so I paid and felt cheated.
In the morning, the hotel general manager was polite and professional and agreed to cancel my stay, which was a relief. The room was far worse than described on Booking.com, extremely small, and faced a dark alley. The entire experience was hostile and unreliable.

The location is perfect for exploring NYC, with most of the highlights in Manhattan accessible on foot. The room was comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. It was not spacious, but this is Midtown Manhattan, so we didn't expect it to be. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. The Lantern's Keep bar was great and the barman was exceptional.
We were unable to turn the fan / aircon off in the room, even when staff came up to loo at it. It meant that we had to sleep under a constant draft of air - it was relatively mild so not a huge issue but we did wake up with a sore throat in the mornings. The breakfast selection was limited for the first three days. By the forth day this was rectified and we received a menu. Again, not a huge problem, but it could have been better.
