Good
The staff was wonderful. Friendly, welcoming, accommodating. The location of the hotel is great for exploring the Upper East Side - close to Central Park, the MET, and many other museums. It was also very quiet for a NYC hotel. The rooms are small, but expected for NYC.
Two small things - rooms could use a little refresh - paint, etc. And I would have liked an additional mirror (plenty of wall space for that). My only real complaint is that the air conditioning made a horrible high pitched (almost alarm-like) noise and so I had to turn it off at night.

The location was superb, characterful and had everything we needed. Great to have a later checkout.
Would have liked more teabags!!

The location and staff were AMAZING!
Pretty decor.
The room was really, really small. We had the cozy but it was really tight for two people. Bed was up against the wall so not easy to get out of bed with two people. Had to shimmy to the end of the bed to get out and there was no way to move the bed.
Bathroom also extremely tiny. Tough space for my 6’4” husband. Sink needs its own light. Hard to put on makeup.
Very limited amenities for the price of the room. No iron, no mini fridge bc there’s no room.

I think it was ok
It is way to small the bathroom was so uncomfortable and it barely had light a couple of the bulbs in the bathroom were out

Quaint old hotel, in a very quiet area of Upper East Side, close to Central Park, and a quite a few restaurants on 3rd Avenue. Very clean and very friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms are tight.

Exceptional
I stayed here pre-Covid and wrote a negative review, suggesting it needed a renovation
It had a renovation and it is a gem. It is the only hotel within a large area. I will definitely stay there again in the future.
I wish they had kept the breakfast option they used to have. The prices in NY are outrageous, but at least this hotel's rate is less expensive than others.

Fantastic location, excellent linen and wonderful staff
Not very well insulated, so can be cold in the room if you don’t like hot air blowing from the aircon. Then again, it is so nice to sleep in a cosy bed in the cold

The staff were all great. The room was cleaned and refurbished every day. Nespresso in the room was nice to have.
The room was very small, as was the bathroom; I'm a big guy and it was hard to maneuver there.

Friendly staff, location
Room was SO small there was no chair to sit on, no closet, nowhere to put my luggage.
There was a charging station for electronics that didn’t work.
I had the heat cranked up but windows were very drafty! No heat in bathroom.
The bathroom was so small one had to go in sidewise.

Amazing Location, great staff, well designed interior, special coffees, charming if small rooms. Lots of good food options including the wonderful Bocado just across the street.
Nothing, it’s all good.
