Love the empire! Possibly my favourite hotel experience in New York. Always feels like you’re a part of the buzz of Manhattan without being trapped in time square.
It’s a little outdated but that’s a part of its charm.

I didn’t like how we saw cockroaches our first night & how extremely hot the room was. Made it uncomfortable to sleep in.

My stay was very disappointing. The air conditioner in the room was broken, and I had to call and ask them to fix it myself. There was no blanket provided, which was very uncomfortable. The room had a very bad view and was dark. When I asked to change rooms, even offering to pay extra, the hostess was unfriendly and said the hotel was fully booked. On top of that, the phone in the room was very old and didn’t even have numbers on it, making it difficult to use. Overall, poor service, uncomfortable room, and unhelpful staff. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff were really pleasant.
The room and hotel corridors etc were tired and worn. The air conditioning unit was very loud and made creaking noises which were disturbing during the night.
