Where it was situated.
The luggage storage.
From the moment you get in the lobby everything else is downhill.
The room was very tired with wall paper hanging off the wall. You could see that it had not been updated in a very long time.
The bathroom was very substandard with tiles missing having fell off the wall.
I booked 2 superior rooms that were very different in size.
No obscure glass so other rooms can see directly into your room. This meant you had to close the curtains when you got ready. The light in the room is insufficient with the curtains drawn.
The roof top bar is expensive with no concession for staying in the hotel.
We bought a bottle of champagne which was expensive, not chilled correctly and served in plastic glasses. This was not made clear to us when we ordered the champagne

Amazing location visiting over Labor Day with my wife.
Coming back after midnight from US Open, unfortunately our HVAC malfunctioned while we were out and the room was HOT.
Luckily, Audrey at the desk came to the rescue and helped us switch rooms. We slept in a nice cool room and rested assured by the quality service.
It’s a great value! There were some worn items in our room including the blinds being slightly broken. It’s not perfect condition, but the location is perfect.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and I love the location. It is right across the street from my daughter’s dorm. That’s the best thing I can say about my stay this time.
I had booked a queen bed for three nights. I arrived around 6 PM to check in and when I got to my room, it was a small stuffy room that smell of vomit with a double bed. When I inquired about the change of bed sizes, I was told because I checked in late (I don’t believe 6 PM is that late) and that they were very busy because of the holiday weekend that all they had left available was a double bed. There was no refrigerator in the room and I asked if I could be changed to a room that at least had a refrigerator because I take medication that needs to be refrigerated but they could not accommodate me. I also asked if they would be refunding me the difference of the price, but they said since I booked through a third-party that I would have to request it from Booking.com.
The phone in my room did not work so every time I needed anything I’d have to go downstairs, which normally would not be a big deal, but I have a disability and having to maneuver going up and down several times a day for different reasons was difficult. I asked that my room could be clean that evening because it smelled of vomit and they said they would try but they didn’t. I asked if I could have two new pillows because the pillows smelled like mold and vomit and I never received them after asking a couple times. I asked for ice the first night and didn’t receive it either. There is no ice machine. You have to ask the front desk for ice. I asked for the room to be clean the second day I was there, but it was not cleaned either. It was on the third day tho. I did finally get two extra pillows after having to go downstairs twice to ask.. the AC worked sometimes, and sometimes it just stopped. Some of the outlets did not work as well as the iron. Was extremely sad and disappointed at not only the accommodations, but my interactions with the staff. I tried not to bother them, but I had no other choice. And most stuff I didn’t even tell them about.

The rooms were very dirty. One of the two was a shoebox, with an obliquous window, facing a wall. The bathrooms were repulsive. There were coackroaches in the bathroom and the reply of the consierge was : " there is nothing we can do". The corners were filled with aged dust, the WC was encrusted. When I called a maid to do something about it, she took a face towel, shoved it into the WC and told me "you see, it does not come off". IT was disgraceful. NEVER again.

The staff were nice and accomodating to my cancellation request
Unfortunately, the hotel was extremely unclean. There was mould, broken furniture and terrible smells throughout. The condition was so bad that I ended up cancelling the rest of my booking and moving to another hotel. Very disappointing and not somewhere I would recommend.
