Extremely good location, 3 minutes stroll from Central Park. Swift check in and great roof bar, Comfortable room.
Swimming pool very small. Aircon effective, but very noisy.

Location and the rooftop areas.
Hotel rooms need to be updated. Didn’t have access to the rooftop and pool area for 2 and a half out of my 4 day stay. That was the main reason for staying at this hotel.

Location… plus decor in reception
Room was old with paint crusting on doors. Air conditioning wasn’t as labeled. It was air being blown around the room.. a very noisy fan.

Couldn’t stay air conditioning was broken in the room and hotel they said someone will come up to fix it no one came was sitting in 83 degree room for more than 30 minutes they had no other rooms available the hotel was packed seemed like they double booked as well many people paid and couldn’t get their room also I’ve seen reviews after the matter that it’s an occuring thing. Very unfortunate.

I got a great deal on the room and I love that Rosa’s has moved into the hotel space. Also love going to the rooftop for a nightcap.
Parking was unavailable due to some filming so I had to use the garage two streets over. Though I understand, it was inconvenient on hot days. I choose to stay at the Empire most of the time because of the location and the benefits of the hotel but I wish the bar in the lobby would re-open.

Rooftop bar offered great views of the surrounding area. The convenience of the on-site restaurants made dining options easy. Front desk staff promised to deliver on multiple things (champagne to be delivered to our room & to assist with getting our room partially refunded)- they use didn’t deliver.
The A/C in our room didn’t work. We were promised a 50% refund on the cost of our room. After spending 2-3 hours on the phone with booking.com and the front desk, we were promised everything to be processed- it never was and now I can’t get in touch with anyone from the hotel or booking.com to settle

Great value for the location! Right next to central park and the lincoln center. Other tourist stops are a short subway ride away. Good restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. A/C worked. The lobby and bellhop services were nice and well done. Staff was friendly and check-in was smooth and easy. Hotel room itself was average.
View from my room was of a building and the window shade wouldn't move, but that wasn't a big deal to me. Bathroom was small (bathroom would not be suitable for plus-sized people) and the room felt run down, but seemed average for similar hotels in the area.
