Poor
Worn out, items not working and broken, windows unusable so the views you have paid for are not possible, staff including the manager just fobbed us off saying they are about to do a refit and every room is the same. Extremely disappointed! The room that is advertised not even close to the room we were given.
Location only.

Loved the location!
Property was older and the rooms were run down

Great location, beautiful lobby.
After the lobby, it’s all very dated and tatty - wallpaper in the elevator was peeling off in a large chunk. The room was very bare, no homely touches, there was a random leather tray set on top of the desk area but nothing in it. Room in need of a very deep clean as loads of dust along edges of bed and walls. Our bathroom was a weird shape and you couldn’t stand in front of the sink properly.

This hotel was all we needed - location, spacious room, great view and a rooftop bar. It was right next door to the Met Opera so it was great getting out of a late performance and getting straight to our hotel. Staff were all helpful and chatty.
Nothing comes to mind.

Felt very grand. Location was amazing….15 minutes walk to Times Square .
No tea and coffee machine facilities in the rooms-think this is possibly the only hotel I’ve ever stayed int hat had none.

I've stayed at the Empire Hotel several times, primarily to take advantage of its proximity to Lincoln Center. And ease of getting to Central Park, museums, restaurants and eateries.

Very Good
Staff was very welcoming and professional, quite courteous.
Room was very comfortable with a few minor exceptions (vide sub)
We love the rooftop lounge/bar: great food and libations, excellent attentive staff!
Location is superb: near the park museums and Tavern on the Green. And, most importantly, after the Opera, we simply stroll across the square to our beds!!
The furnishings are in bad shape. The drawers in our room (this trip and last) kept sliding open and I kept banging my shins on them!! WW finally merely turned the chest of drawers to the wall! (We did move it back…

Good
The room was quiet and the bed is comfortable. The front desk staff are very helpful. The location, especially for Lincoln Center performances, can't be beat.
My room was very cold and the thermostat could not be controlled. The room was a bit shabby and in need to renovation (torn carpet, torn lamp shade)

Pleasant
Lobby is nice, restaurants are good, location is great, and value for price is great.
Staff was rude, first impression was a man at the front desk yelling at a guest. Rooms are tiny and falling apart, bathroom is disgusting and shower didn’t drain almost over flowing when you take a shower.

Location is good
The bathroom (toilet and wash hand basin area) is too small. The toilet seat is not convenient for a tall person. The bath size is the normal size
