Large room, comfortable king bed, traditional furniture, nice artwork, quiet block nestled between Marcus Garvey/Mount Morris Park and Malcolm X/Lenox Ave where there several nice eateries, short walk to the subway, and parking wasn’t too hard to find this weekend.
Took a couple minutes of running the water in the sink, but it did get hot in time for my purposes.

Great place, great host. Great location.
One of the best bathrooms i have ever seen!
Harlem has the best buildings/architecture in NY.
We will visit the place again on our next trip.

Where do I start?! The room was Beautifully decorated, very artsy and much attention to detail. We appreciated all the toiletries and when we notified our host of anything we needed they responded QUICKLY and very kindly. The location was perfect to navigate the subway, grocery stores, restaurants and we felt very safe in the neighborhood. I don’t know what could’ve made our trip better. Thank you!!

Absolutely beautiful guesthouse with fantastic interior, located in a cozy and quiet street, still with easy access to the trains. Our room was beautiful, super clean, with a spacious bathroom. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Truly a unique place, we enjoyed our stay a lot. And hot chocolate in the room was amazing

The room was very well decorated and clean, there was a nespresso machine and a brita in the fridge. There was also a paper on the door with a map and recommended some places to go, which was very sweet
The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great

Very Good
An interesting room that offers more than the standard hotel. The neighborhood was pleasant and authentic. We loved getting back to it after a day in Manhattan. People were all friendly here.
The bed was too soft for me. The airconditioning too loud for the night, but more than welcome. Apart from the glasses, cups and knives, 2 plates would have been convenient.

The room was unique in it's color and character. The bed was very comfortable. Being in NYC, you are just out and about most of the time, and this room was nice to return back to. I would stay again.

Very Good
This place has a lot of charisma and is packed full of art and creative expression. The owner calls it West African maximalism, sort of Harlem Baroque - bold, dark colors, historic ornate brownstone features, paired with bold art, antiques, and artifacts, and about a zillion happy plants. Our room was huge and included a king bed, velvet sofa, a fireplace, a big turquoise table, and bay windows. It's close to restaurants and the subway, and it was easy to get around.
The bathroom was a bit dark and smaller than we prefer, but it did the job.

Fantastic house with wooden interior, art and plants adding character to every corner. Genial host. A place of real character.
Liked it altogether - a waste bin in the bedroom (for used teabags, etc.) might have been helpful - but all was good

This is a great boutique guest house in a beautiful and historic neighborhood in Harlem that is full of culture, art and restaurants. Getting around the city from here is easy due to quick access to express 2+3 trains. The host is interesting, generous and kind. The room was huge, had everything necessary (and more), and was beautifully decorated. The property is truly unique and a labor of love - this is exactly the type of small business I want to support when traveling.
The shower had low water pressure, which is the only critique I can think of!

The room was so incredibly spacious and super quirky & colourful without threatening comfort. Every single thing Soul Food could of thought of they did, robes, tea, kettle, microwave, fridge, body wash, towels for body and hair, coffee, lighting, power points. It was so impressive! It made a very stressful trip calm when I needed. Local Eatery options are iconic and flavourful. I felt completely safe in the area, with a lovely community feel rich in history and splendour. Definitely go to Grandma's Place (book shop) a few buildings down, the owners are marvellous humans.
I liked everything.

Loved everything about this beautiful guesthouse - absolutely stunning design and decor, nice and warm the whole time despite the minus figure temps outside, all the small touches were really appreciated too. Location is fantastic and I would recommend staying in Harlem to anybody considering it, it was very easy to get downtown but equally lots of great things nearby like Marcus Garvey Park, great soul food and a range of top quality coffee places. The owner was very welcoming and kind, thank you for a lovely stay ?
Nothing - it was perfect.
