The location was great.
We had a multitude of problems and none were resolved. Checking our luggage took well over 40 minutes. The blankets on our bed were too small. They didn’t even fit the bed. There was no extra blanket in the closet. There were no washcloths. We looked for ice and were told where it was. Went to the spot, there was a sign but no ice machine! Just an empty space. We called the front desk and were put on hold for 15 minutes the first time. The second time we just gave up! It took FOREVER to get an elevator. We will never stay here again!

Very central, easy to access theatres & restaurants.
Comfortable rooms
Very rude reception staff, although great concierge.
Sparse facilities in lobby, although update explained.
Regularly used hotel 1984 - 91 & had fond memories of it. Very disappointed in down trend.
Lifts were horrendous’ very slow and queues long. Safety in question as top floor descent very bumpy and dropped often. Health & Safety should be informed!

The location is fantastic - only a few blocks from Central Park and from Times Square. Really close to the theatres which is what I was there for mainly. My room and bathroom had been refurbed so no shower curtain and no peeling wallpaper like other rooms - others in my group weren’t so lucky.
The staff are very friendly.
I was put off by the hotel straight away because of the check-in process. I arrived at 1800 (2hours after the earliest check-in of 1600). My room wasn’t ready. I was offered a downgrade but I said no. A room was found for me there and then but I could see everyone else at the desk being turned away as their room wasn’t ready.
The lift system is really not good. It’s crowded and takes too long for your lift to arrive. On one day I had to wait 10 minutes for a lift to arrive. Once finally in the lift, it glitched and stopped at almost every floor between 50 and 30 (I was on floor 50).
The hotel seems to have a lot of group bookings for conferences etc and I don’t think the hotel is geared up for this as it interrupts everyone else’s experience.
WiFi is also not included - it was $16 dollars a day.

Centrally located.
It’s such a huge hotel, you have to Queue up for everything 15 minutes -30 minutes, you should plan, Check in, Elevator, Breakfast, Dinner. This Hotel could be called in other terms -Queue Hotel.

The staff was generally helpful with a couple of exceptions.
We had to wait in line almost an hour to check in. We had $35/day in credit due to a report fee but the coffee shop opened an hour later than we were told at check in and the bar closed early on Friday night for an “emergency”. By the time the coffee shop opened, it also had a long line.

Great location, stuff was friendly.
Check in was slow. There was only two employees at front desk checking in guest and a huge line. It took over 30 minutes to check in. Also found. Blood stay on the comforter and a glob of hair on the shower wall.

Love the elevator system that keeps you from waiting too long.
Rooms are tight and beds are smaller than average, no refrigerator or microwave (except for the community one by the elevators). Bartender was rude. Front desk is great!

Quered up 4 six hours to check in to be told the room wasn't ready then they charged me £442 on my card they said it was an accident they thought it was for one night no apologises.

The beds were comfortable
Check-in was extremely slow - only two agents working at main check in time. There were only two guests before us in line, and it took 30 minutes to even get to the counter.
The elevator system is ridiculous. There is never enough room for all the people that are told to squeeze into the same elevator, so it stops on many unnecessary floors for people that never managed to squeeze in. Trying to get back in the lobby is a horror show with the overfilled elevators. Only one or two at most seem to be working at a time.
The rooms are dated - and I mean really, really. REALLY dated. They are also the size of a closet. And not even a big closet. The shower is tiny, and you know when any of the people in rooms around you use the bathroom.
The lobby was bare with barely a place to sit. There were signs that they are redoing something, but that could have meant the Christmas decoration. I do see no plausible reason to remove comfortable seating options from a lobby for a hotel this size without bringing in a replacement immediately.

Dilapidated rooms. We had to queue for about a half hour to check in. Staff seemed to be over worked. I booked a room for four guests and selected breakfast included option. Come to find out only two guests were entitled to breakfast. The breakfast itself was very low quality.
