We stayed in a large room with kitchenette. The hotel is not new but is very well and beautifully maintained. It’s close to bus and subway lines.
The coffee in the room is not the best.

We had an excellent stay at the San Carlos Hotel and would happily stay here again. Our Deluxe Room with two queen beds was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
The real highlight was the beds, the mattresses and bedding were exceptionally comfortable, genuinely some of the best we have had in a hotel. After long days walking around New York, they were absolutely perfect.
The room also had very useful facilities, including a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, plates and cutlery, which made the stay much more convenient. The air conditioning worked very well, the Wi-Fi was reliable, and the bathroom was clean with good shower pressure and toiletries provided.
The location is exceptional. We could walk very easily to places such as Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Grand Central Terminal and the United Nations, while public transport makes the rest of Manhattan very accessible. Despite such a central location, we had no noticeable street noise.
The staff were helpful and particularly responsive whenever we needed anything. The lobby and lifts were pleasant, and the hotel felt secure and well managed throughout our stay.
Overall, we thought it offered very good value for New York, particularly considering the size of the room, comfort and location. A genuinely excellent stay and an easy 10/10 from us.
Very little. On a couple of occasions we could faintly hear voices through an adjoining wall, but it was very occasional and never enough to disturb us. Otherwise, we really had no complaints.

Everything was wonderful from the moment we walked into the lobby until we left. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was perfect, and the rooms were clean and wonderful. We had two adjoining rooms that made it into a huge suite with a sitting room. We loved it!
