We love the San Carlos. This is our fourth stay and the rooms are very comfortable, quiet and the staff is very friendly. We love how close it is to St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center and the New York Luncheonette. We love that place, too. We also appreciated the Keurig coffee and free water bottles. Also, my Mom LOVES the San Carlos robes!
We were on the third floor and could hear more noise from the street than in past years, but it wasn't bad.

Great location, nice room that was big by NYC standards and good service. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
Restaurant that at least serves breakfast. Good diner across the street from hotel, but it was PACKED every day. Nothing hotel-wise is a "good value" in NYC these days, but given the price a restaurant would be something I'd expect. Knew there was none when I booked, but would be a factor if I returned.

From the moment we checked in with "Evelyn" we felt very welcomed. The room was a perfect size. The bed was very comfortable. The elevators were the most responsive I have ever experienced. The location was excellent. We walked to the hotel from Grand Central Station. We walked to Rockefeller Center and the Fifth Avenue shopping. We walked to our dinner and then our Broadway play on 44th. Even "Andy" the doorman was a treat. Thank you all.

Room was really big, comfortable bed, really clean. Nice gym. Friendly staff. They provided umbrellas which was nice since it rained the whole trip. Perfect location.

Great location in mid-town east side NYC, and very affordable for thee location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags there on our last day while we spent more time looking around the city. Nice room with good aircon control, and huge very comfortable bed.

The hotel is in an excellent midtown location. There is also a convenient subway station very nearby. There's an excellent luncheonette across the street, so the location could not have been better. The staff is welcoming, kind, and attentive. The only thing that prevented me from giving five stars across the board is that the room had a bit of an odor. Maybe it's because the room is carpeted and it's just holding smells, but it smelled a bit like dirty feet. It looked clean and the housekeeping staff was very prompt and friendly.
The room is also very spacious for New York standards. The bathroom is large, there is a nice size closet, and plenty of walking space in the room.
The room was super quiet and we got excellent rest there.
