Hidden gem right in Midtown, train right on the corner that gets you to the museums. One of the best bagel shops right across the street. Superbly clean rooms of good size. Very accommodating staff. It doesn't get any better than this in Manhattan.

We love the San Carlos. This is our fourth stay and the rooms are very comfortable, quiet and the staff is very friendly. We love how close it is to St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center and the New York Luncheonette. We love that place, too. We also appreciated the Keurig coffee and free water bottles. Also, my Mom LOVES the San Carlos robes!
We were on the third floor and could hear more noise from the street than in past years, but it wasn't bad.

Disappointing
Concealing from cutomers the obscene "restore fee" means I will never return to the San Carlos.
1. That "resort fee" and keeping it secret.

This is a nice, affordable hotel in a good area. The rooms are also large by New York City standards. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
The hotel is a bit noisy at night.

We had an upgrade and it make the weekend even better! Staff was friendly. Didn't know if there was community coffee somewhere, that would have been nice

We stayed in an Executive Jr. Suite which is located at the front of the hotel. The room size was good. The hotel is in an excellent location.
The hotel rooms are in need of refurbishing.
