Location was very good...right in Manhattan. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious.
The room was dated. Wall covering were pealing a bit. The bathroom lighting was not great although there were plenty of lights. Finally, the window in the main room did not close properly but it looked that was by design. There was always outside air blowing in as well as street noise (which is loud in NYC). I could see this resulting in the room being quite cold in the Winter.

I liked the location of the hotel. The room was really big, which was great, I really loved that fact as a 6'5 man. The bathroom is also reasonably sized.
The walls are thin... As I was connected to another room, I could hear the occupants of the other room at night time for example.

We had a really good stay overall. The hotel is in a great location, quite central and about a 20-minute walk from Times Square.
but the area is still nice and quiet.
It was also very convenient to get to JFK Airport.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend it!
The only downside was the Wi-Fi signal, which was quite weak in our room on the 12th floor.
It worked fine in the lobby, though.

The staff was amazing. Honestly above and beyond, so kind to my wild kids. I would 100% recommend San Carlos to anyone visiting with children. They were very helpful and accomodating with transportation, kid needs, etc.
Not my favorite location we've stayed in, but it wasn't awful. Still convenient to subway stops, just not quite as close to the specific things we were doing.
