Great room, comfortable bed, good breakfast, friendly service (reception, breakfast, rooms), location is bang in the middle.
Would book again - the view from the room was breath taking
small point: working at my desk from crack of dawn (UK office hours) there is no light at the desk.

There’s no service at this property all. The refrigerator had a huge noise. Called the frond desk twice, complained in the front desk in person, the staff acted like they care but no one showed up to fix it. Had to pull the damn thing out and unplug it myself so I can sleep.

Room was cozy and clean. Great views.
There was a fire alarm. The communication during this alarm was not efficient. Honestly, it was a bit scary when you are on the 44th floor and the elevators are disabled, thinking that you might be trapped during the fire somewhere in the building. In the end, nothing terrible happened, but it would have been better if the announcements with instructions had come out faster.

The pillows were awful and the room showed signs of wear and tear with the molding around the bathroom door pulling apart.

Great views and location
I left a women's blazer hanging the wardrobe by mistake. This was immediately found but the hotel charge to post back to New Zealand was $250USD - completely crazy and really left sour taste after stay. The postage cost on Amazon for a similar jacket from US to NZ is approximately $25 at most.

No-brainer choice for first time in New York. We got exactly the type of room and floor we requested. Amazing value for money. The breakfast is really great with a ton of alternatives, hot and cold and variation from day to day. Spacious room. Comfortable bed and bedding. Hand soap, schampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair drier and safe deposit. Modern tv with ability to cast. Quick help when calling the reception. Daily room cleaning. Polite staff at all times, in particular the breakfast staff were very kind and respectful. Elevators worked fine, only a few 2-3 times during our 10 days when we had to wait >5 minutes and it was always during "rush hour" right after breakfast ends. The location couldn't be better. Slept without a problem, wasn't noisy and there were good thick blackout-curtains.
The bathroom didn't seem to have its own heating and was quite cold as it was -10 degrees C outside, although we never asked about this.
