Comfortable bed, beautiful room, nice amenities. What made this experience even better was the staff. They were always cheerful, helpful and went above and beyond to help us. Great location! They even have the famous Lenny the doorman working there. This is a high-level hotel without the high-level price.

From walking into the Reception area to leaving. We loved staying at this hotel. It was in an excellent area of New York and we felt very safe in the area. We found all the staff to be very professional and friendly. We did not see the Gentleman who was on Reception when we arrived (at about 4.30pm on 11th August. Sorry we did not get his name) when we left but would like to thank him for allocating such a nice room with a really big balcony. The Concierge team was very friendly and helpful. The gym was well equipped and a nice little area with lounges on a balcony outside. We loved New York and we would certainly stay here again if we came to New York again. On the corner of Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue just up the Street for shopping. A few minutes walk to Central Park. Very close to Rockefeller Centre and St Patrick's Cathedral (on the next block). Nice walk to Grand Central Terminal and the Empire State Building (excellent views at the top)

It is hard to explain what a disappointing experience paying for an upscale hotel and getting a rundown property. While the staff were extremely courteous, the hotel has not been renovated in a very long time and was shabby at best.
We reserved a king deluxe room, but the room was smaller than most Hampton Inns I've stayed in Manhattan. We upgraded to a larger room, which had s pealing headboard, a TV that they couldn't get to work scratches and tears in the dressers and a scuffed up sink. All for an extra $75 a night. The bed in both rooms was soft and unsupportive leading to backaches
The fitness center features two peloton bikes, but both were not working and they knew nothing about it or how to fix them. This lasted the whole time we were there. If you use their fitness center, there is no bathroom either.
They were nice enough to give us a larger suite albeit by an elevator. Even here the bathtub was clogged up and I requested it to be repaired, but the repair did not happen during our stay.
This hotel is definitely not worth the money to stay in.

Location and bellman were super friendly and helpful!
Hotel staff very curt and wanted to charge for every ask which normally at a higher end hotel the customer service and experience is elevated to promote return customers.

This hotel is a grand and beautiful older hotel. Common spaces are lovely and have a wonderful NY atmosphere. All staff from front desk to front door to restaurant to housekeeping are professional, knowledgeable and warm. Rooms are comfortable, but a little worn and outdated. But I heard a renovation is coming soon?
Regardless, I will stay there again even as is!

The hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, large bathrooms. For a midtown hotel, the accommodations are nice.
We arrived to check in at 6:15PM. Our room was not ready, as the hotel staff mentioned they still had to clean it. I’m unsure how this happens when check out is at 10am ish, and check in time is 3PM. We were asked to wait “10-20 minutes.” 45 minutes later, the room was still unavailable. We had dinner reservations and needed to change, so they allowed our party into ANOTHER room (not ours) to get dressed, but advised us “not to dirty it up because it’s already clean for someone else.” When we came back downstairs to get the keys to our room, it was STILL not clean, and it was now 8PM. I truly couldn’t believe it. The staff did apologize for the inconvenience, and when I went to check out they had comped our stay entirely. They did right by us in the end, but I still can’t wrap my head around how this happened.
