location is amazing, the roof top bar is great and the entire lobby is very nice
the beds are rather soft, we did not find them very comfortable. Also, there were 4 of us in the room checked in and 2 out of 5 times we had to ask for an extra towel because we only got 3. We also needed to ask twice to refill the shampoo bottle which we ran out of (normal use) - all that despite of repeated nice tip for the maid

Good location and good facilities
The hotel charged me a smoking fee when NO member of my family smokes. We even showed them a video proving their sensors were mistaking the smell of hair dryers for an e-cigarette, but they found it easier to impose the fine than admit their mistake. This is truly an outrageous abuse of the hotel's rights. In every review I write, I will ALWAYS give them negative ratings. And if you at Booking.com have any way to support your users, please let me know how.
Instead of doing their job to investigate further, the staff simply washed their hands of the matter

The room and location were excellent! The room was clean with a nice soft bed (but not too soft) and a sofa which gave a spacious feeling. The bathroom and shower were nice. The rooftop bar is lovely, with a view on Times Square. The absolute best thing is the location, between Times Square and Central Park. We did a lot of things on foot. If you want to take the metro, there is a station right next to the hotel or a few within a couple minutes’ walk. The price was a bit more than hotels further away, but it was definitely worth it. In our case the staff was very friendly and attentive when we needed a solution for our problem. I highly recommend.
I wouldn't recommend breakfast. We did get breakfast one time, but it was a standard American breakfast. Lots of carbs, no veggies and no alternatives like plant‑based milk or yoghurt. There are a lot of good places to get breakfast, so I recommend going out or grabbing a quick breakfast. Also, the bike rental was a bit of clickbait for us – turns out you cannot rent a bike with the hotel. They give you a daily code for half an hour free for city bike rentals, which also requires you to put the bike back every half an hour. So not really what we envisioned when they advertise with bike rentals.

Wonderful outdoor cocktail patio with great views. .
Room with view over Times Square was a wonderful treat .
Lifts slow - be patient !
Room not made up on the one day . Unacceptable.
Doormen at side walk level - Disappointing. Not sure what their function is. . My wife arrived with heavy luggage in hand struggling. They don’t help . Just talk to each other and make jokes . Very unprofessional as a first impression. Everyday thereafter not once did they greet guests . Arrogant and disrespectful.
Promised Bar credit. .but this was a problem because they were upgrading software etc making their offer null and void . Misrepresentation .
Housekeeping removed some of items ( shopping bags from The savoy and Harrods etc thinking it was rubbish . They were not in the bin ! Savoy shopping bag especially sentimental they removed . Very questionable to the intent .still waiting for a resolution.

Housekeeping to please please make our room . Well she forgot ! Nothing done ! Unacceptable for the rates paid .
I feel lack of staff training and taking personal responsibility is the key issue here ! So many choices in Times Square !

It was close so my adult children were close to us
2 times do not disturb sign on. Pregnant daughter in law resting in room. Cleaner didn’t even knock went in room. 4pm check in with 2 desks open and long line.

The location was great. The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice!
It was so hard to find and since it’s open to the public, it was so very congested. The elevators were always filled and took sooooo long to arrive. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all almost empty and noone refilled it. It’s also hard to find from the street because there is no large “M social” sign like advertised.

Came early to ask for an early check-in and was greatest by the rudest staff i have ever seen in 2 decades of traveling to 5 star resorts over the world. Go spend your money somewhere else. There’s plenty of hotels in NYC.
