the staff was not friendly at all, the lady took an authorization from my credit card without even my approval and without sharing the amount and when i complained she was to mean and nasty saying that this is how it works everywhere and she was extremely impolite till the Manager intervened asking her to stop talking in that way. i booked a room with king size and husdon river view. i was given a room with 2 simple bed and a view on the city while i paid more money for the view. i complained and i was given another room with a big size bed but without the view and what shocked me is that no one informed me that the 2nd room is without the view that i paid for so the whole process of changing the rooms took more than 30min knowing that i had to carry my luggage myself each time I'm leaving the rooms . it was midnight , i was tired and coming from the airport. and when i complained again and i have said that i paid for a view that i don't have , the second manager of the night told me in a very bad way that they don't have availability of the rooms with the river view and when i said so what , he said I'll give you back the extra you have paid for it , no excuses , no apologize, no explanations.
i was in Miami just before to come to New York and the staff and people were so friendly and helpful. i didn't expect from a staff of this hotel to be all unprofessional and impolite except the Manager of the day who was there before 11 pm
the room was small, the quality of the bad was horrible and the smell in the bathroom unbearable. the carpet and the rest of the room look very dirty and dark. i had to ask for reimbursement and left the hotel for another one which was not far from the location , less expensive and way better

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Location is great. Bar and food available there is great.
Need to think about leaving the kitchen open for bar bites and after theatre food at the bar beyond 10:30. One of my party was charged $15 for a tea bag at the restaurant - I know it’s NY but you might think of including a coffee/tea service in the rooms.
Also, just from a decoration standpoint - it’s time to get rid of the plastic artificial flowers in the lobby and bar area.

Proximity to everything is great. Steps away from time square, broadway and 5th avenue.

Good location if you want to stay at middle of the middle, a little noisey
The staff did not help with the one simple request we had during our stay.
We stayed in two premium rooms—one for a couple and another for three adults in a double queen room. We asked for a third blanket, but instead they brought us a very thin pink blanket. We explained that we needed a regular, warm blanket, but they told us that they did not have one.
We asked different members of the staff every day, but each time they only sent the same thin pink blanket. We found this very disappointing, especially for a premium room and such a simple request.
Overall, we expected much better service and would have appreciated more willingness from the staff to help with such a basic need.

The facilities, the room was convenient, staff was very nice.
The room wasnt clean enough, there was hair on the chair, dust on the bed and in the restroom. We just cleaned by ourselves what we could since we were tired and wanted to sleep

It's a great location for the theater and access to subways. the terrace bar is a nice area to sit and have a drink and light food.
the rooms are spacious for a New York hotel. The lobby has a bar area that is a happening place. Adds a positive character to the hotel
Check in was a long wait. They do not have enough staff to handle the number of people checking in. You have to take an elevator to get to the lobby where you have to walk to another elevator bank to get to your room. I did not find the staff friendly.
In the room you can hear the toilets flush in other rooms. I think it is expensive for what you get

I liked the fact I was able to leave my luggage with staff while waiting for a room to be available.
I didn't like the breakfast costing 80 dollars for 2 people after spending nearly 500 for a room. I also didn't appreciate the small store they had there. Went in to buy some hats. Saw the price tag of 19.99 so I grabbed 2. They tried to ring them up at 45 each. I showed him the price clearly printed on tags. He said sorry...forgot to change the price. I gave him some pushback but thats the story he stuck with. He could have honored 1 at 19.99 and another for 45 and I would have been fine with it. I decided to buy nothing.

location is amazing, the roof top bar is great and the entire lobby is very nice
the beds are rather soft, we did not find them very comfortable. Also, there were 4 of us in the room checked in and 2 out of 5 times we had to ask for an extra towel because we only got 3. We also needed to ask twice to refill the shampoo bottle which we ran out of (normal use) - all that despite of repeated nice tip for the maid

Good location and good facilities
The hotel charged me a smoking fee when NO member of my family smokes. We even showed them a video proving their sensors were mistaking the smell of hair dryers for an e-cigarette, but they found it easier to impose the fine than admit their mistake. This is truly an outrageous abuse of the hotel's rights. In every review I write, I will ALWAYS give them negative ratings. And if you at Booking.com have any way to support your users, please let me know how.
Instead of doing their job to investigate further, the staff simply washed their hands of the matter

Very Good
The room and location were excellent! The room was clean with a nice soft bed (but not too soft) and a sofa which gave a spacious feeling. The bathroom and shower were nice. The rooftop bar is lovely, with a view on Times Square. The absolute best thing is the location, between Times Square and Central Park. We did a lot of things on foot. If you want to take the metro, there is a station right next to the hotel or a few within a couple minutes’ walk. The price was a bit more than hotels further away, but it was definitely worth it. In our case the staff was very friendly and attentive when we needed a solution for our problem. I highly recommend.
I wouldn't recommend breakfast. We did get breakfast one time, but it was a standard American breakfast. Lots of carbs, no veggies and no alternatives like plant‑based milk or yoghurt. There are a lot of good places to get breakfast, so I recommend going out or grabbing a quick breakfast. Also, the bike rental was a bit of clickbait for us – turns out you cannot rent a bike with the hotel. They give you a daily code for half an hour free for city bike rentals, which also requires you to put the bike back every half an hour. So not really what we envisioned when they advertise with bike rentals.
