We came to the city via train and the hotel was very close to Grand Central. The room was bright and comfortable. The lounge on the second floor was a wonderful space to sit and have morning coffee. We also had an excellent breakfast at the restaurant on our last morning. I especially appreciated the courteous and attentive staff.

Our stay was wonderful. We were upgraded to a king size bedroom, which was wonderful. It was our wedding anniversary. The room had a flower decoration that my wife loved. She wanted to know what the thread count was on the bed sheets because it was so comfortable, but was afraid to ask.
Our only complaint was that we when we asked for directions to the Natural History Museum using the subway the directions we were given were wrong. But that wasn't too big of a deal at all.

I like that they put a kettle in the room and the fridge and the 2nd floor tea and coffee library
The heating didn’t work and the bath water came out rusty

We stayed in a petite suite, which was very small, but we knew it would be. We were only in the room to sleep and change clothes, so this was not an issue. If you have a smaller room like we did, don't plan to "hang out" much in the room. The Reading Room was nice to get coffee and snacks any time of day or night. Everything was very walkable, you are SO close to Grand Central Station and the New York Public Library. There is a nice restaurant attached to the hotel, though we did not eat there. The Rooftop bar was very nice, and we spent some time up there.
It was a little disappointing that the entire hotel was basically wrapped up for some reason, so there were no views. also impossible to see the address and name because of all the scaffolding. There is a "business center" with a computer and printer, but they don't work. I needed to print something ut and when I asked about it at the front desk, they were very kind and said to send whatever I needed and they would print it for me, which they did. But never said why I couldn't just do it myself, and the business center didn't give any indication it was not usable, so they might want to let people know that. Also, as nice as the Reading Room was, they def don't want you hanging out there a lot there are only straight back chairs, and it is very cold, and there is very loud musak playing at all hours in there, which makes it hard to relax, that and if another guest is in there having a virtual meeting they are loud as well.

I thought both the library and rooftop lounge were extremely nice. And I liked having a restaurant on site. Good location and friendly staff.
My room was freezing and the thermostat not working but a space heater was promptly provided. The room was very small but well done.

Location, location, location. Easy access to all the things we had planned to do and to subways when the weather made it difficult to walk long distances. Library theme is really fun for book lovers like us. Second floor relaxation area was a welcome spot for coffee and a light snack.
New York is certainly the city that never sleeps, but construction at all hours of the night on 41st street was horribly loud and led to terrible sleep. The hotel has no control over the work done across the street, of course, but not a restful stay. Second floor snacks were a little sparse.

Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Very comfortable bed, strong shower. Comfortable little lobby.
Rooftop bar is sweet - wish the menu had more vegetable options/salad. Staff wasn't really ready for us at 2:30pm on a Saturday. Table service didn't really start until well after 3pm. But they were all nice.

Very good location in Midtown. I like that it was near the NY public Library which is fantastisk. Nice staff. The Reading room on the second floor was marvellous. Cozy rooftop bar. Clean and nice room.
It’s expensive. And I also think that 700$ for a night should include breakfast, but we ate bananas in the Reading room.

This hotel is always a dream. It is clean, safe, and the staff cannot be beat. It is the only place I stay in NYC!

Poor
Location. Bed was comfortable.
Could not change TV channels. Shower pressure was low, because half the water flowed out of the faucet instead of thru the shower. Room was small, not dark enough and windows were not soundproofed - I slept terribly.

The first room (602) was too small for two people with luggage. Once we were moved to a larger room (605) we had a great stay.
