They allowed us to do an early check-in so we could store our bags before our room was ready (free of charge) and they delivered bags to our room once it was ready! When we were done with the day we didn’t have to do anything! Very accommodating and free breakfast.

The rooms and bathrooms were beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The staff was super helpful and accommodating.
The ONLY complaint was the elevator wait.

Barebones hotel with small rooms that are poorly lit. Beds are comfy and as there are only 6 rooms a floor it's nice and quiet. But there is only 1 chair per room and limited space, and no good communal areas to catch up with friends /family.

Exceptional customer service provided by Sara and Vonetra. Their attentiveness and friendliness made our stay truly enjoyable. Both were always ready to assist and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. Because of their outstanding service, I would happily choose this hotel again on our next visit!
The only odd thing was the shower door opened inward and also you have to open and step in, reach around the door in order to turn on the water. It’s almost like the door was installed backwards.

Location is good.
Rooms are super small. A lot smaller than the photos on the booking site. I am claustrophobic and asked for a bigger room and they ask me to pay to upgrade. Bathroom is old; old fixtures, toilet etc. you have to wait for 10’min in the morning to get the elevator down. 2 elevators are totally insufficient for that building.

The location is excellent and I was able to walk everywhere or take the subway easily with my 3 year old daughter. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful in answering questions. Our room had an excellent view of the Empire State Building. Also, the beds were so comfortable, I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud for the 3 nights we stayed there. Although I didn't end up cooking, the kitchenette was nice so that I could cut up some fresh fruit from the grocery store. The breakfast had options like cereal, hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausages, bagels, toast, and English muffins. It was decent and left you feeling full.
There seemed to be miscommunication that breakfast on weekdays was from 6:30-9:30am for guests during the time I stayed when it actually was from 6:30-9:00am according to the staff at the breakfast. When we arrived at 9:00am all the food was starting to be cleaned up. There were a few angry guests at this miscommunication/error and I also saw other guests come down surprised that there was nothing to eat and return back to their room. Thankfully, I was able to get cereal, bagel, and some leftover eggs/bacon before it was all taken away. I hope this situation can be prevented in the future.
I recommend getting to breakfast earlier to ensure that you get access to all the food.

Service was very good. You could tell the staff was well trained on how to work with guests and resolve problems.
Breakfast was O.K, I'm not a big fan of the powdered looking eggs. It was just o.k.

Everyone and everything.. the minute I arrived,the security guard on post in front is there making sure area is secure..the front desk,Bea, and the ladies are thee most professional customer service and relations I have witnessed,in all my world travel. .. location is good for shopping, eateries, salon, you have it all there. Again you arrive at the hotel after dinner, etc..its security guard on duty is on post. ..so I can not recommend a finer hotel in NYC then The Hyatt House Chelsea..P.S....the cleaning staff amazing and the woman who is in the morning breakfast handling the room..she sings Motown...and knows lot's of the era..

The front desk staff..all of the ladies and the men ,were very friendly,very helpful...just a very helpful staff.. The sercurity guard's was on in the day was extremely helpful...cleaning staff was very nice ...the women in the breakfast...she worked the floor, was nice ...so I speak for many that The Hyatte Company Ex./ CEO should know the staff at The Staff of Hyatte House Chelsea are great....and just a pleasure to see when staying ..they really make a difference....Tim. The Suite was a great size for NYC and well equipped. Views from our 29th floor corner suite were AMAZING! Breakfast was meh but was included in room cost. Location spot on for tourists who want to be away from the craziness of Time Square but central enough to make their way easily around Manhattan and out to the other boroughs.
The aircon in our room was very noisy to the point we couldn't have it on overnight. The sofabed our teen slept on was very creaky and the mattress was thin. We moved the sofa in the livingroom, as it was facing into the room looking at the kitchen, we felt it was better placed against the high legged table so we could sit and look out over the Manhattan skyline!! The room was dated in style and a little shabby at points, but the cleanliness was 100% so we were very happy with it overall.

Comfy and staff were super helpful.
Breakfast. but I knew based on other reviews what to expect. If you are staying here for the breakfast, you are doing yourself a disservice when there is such good food in the city. The bagel place right below the hotel is exceptional.
This breakfast is not good but if you want something to tie you over till a later meal, then by all means visit it, but be prepared for an unsatisfying experience.
