Disappointing
The location is excellent and very central, making it easy to explore New York. The room was clean throughout our stay, and the luggage storage service felt safe and reliable. Most of the staff were polite and helpful, and the housekeeping service was satisfactory overall.
The room was significantly smaller than expected. The biggest issue was the noise: housekeeping started cleaning rooms from around 8:30 a.m. every day, and because the room door provided very little sound insulation, we were regularly woken up by loud conversations, laughter, and doors slamming in the hallway. One receptionist was also rather unfriendly compared to the rest of the staff. Additionally, the bed sheets were never changed during our stay. We also felt that the staff's attitude became noticeably less welcoming when we declined their airport taxi service. Considering the price, we do not feel the overall quality justified the cost.

The Aura Hotel Time Square is a lovely hotel that is well located, clean, modern and friendly. I recommend this hotel to fellow travelers to NYC.

*Absolutely perfect location right in the heart of Times Square
* Room was surprisingly spacious for New York standards
* Clean, tidy, and generally comfortable
* Good price-performance ratio for NYC
* Easy access to everything in the city
* Service was unfortunately quite unfriendly and at times very persistent
* Strong focus on trying to sell airport taxi transfers, even after multiple refusals
* Confusing situation regarding a “pre-booked taxi” we never requested
* Overall uncomfortable communication with staff during check-out and luggage storage
* Some noise from ventilation (even though street noise was limited due to room location)

The reception and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were very clean and the breakfast served in the Long Room next door was very nice and friendly staff.
Not really an issue. But they could have a water dispenser in the reception. They do have one but it’s on the 2nd floor outside and inside the GYM.

Location is excellent
Our stay at this hotel was unfortunately overshadowed by the disappearance of a bag from our room.
We reported the incident immediately to the hotel staff, expecting it to be treated seriously. However, more than 30 days later, we still have not received any clear update regarding the investigation. To this day, we do not know whether the CCTV footage has even been reviewed.
What is particularly concerning is the apparent lack of urgency and transparency. From a guest’s perspective, it feels as though the hotel either does not care that a theft may have occurred on its premises or simply does not want to take responsibility for investigating it properly.
After numerous emails, phone calls, and lengthy discussions with customer service, we were eventually offered compensation equivalent to two nights. Even then, the amount received was reduced because Booking.com’s commission was deducted, meaning the actual compensation was significantly lower than expected.
To make matters worse, we later realized that the contents missing from the bag were worth considerably more than the amount that was reimbursed.
Despite several follow-up emails requesting updates, we have received absolutely no information regarding the outcome of the investigation. The lack of communication, accountability, and concern shown throughout this process has been extremely disappointing.
A hotel’s true quality is measured by how it handles problems when they arise. Unfortunately, in this case, the response fell far below what we would expect from a professional establishment.

The location was perfect for us--Times Square was just down the street. The bus from the airport, and the Uber van to JFK, dropped us off and picked us up very close to the hotel. The check-in process was quick. The elevators were small and slow, but fortunately our room was on the second floor so we just took the stairs most of the time. There is an Irish bar next door to the hotel for which we got a coupon for a free drink upon checking in, but it was only for a wine or beer, not a mixed drink. The room was clean and fairly spacious, great comfortable bed. Bathroom was a little small but no issues--plenty of hot water. We easily walked to all the theaters we had booked, there are TONS of restaurants to choose from nearby. Easy access to the subway in all directions. It was a great stay
