Since this is an older building it had some really interesting decor. Funky lighting and layout.
Breakfast was very continental. They did their best trying to make it seem upscale but no matter how fancy the espresso machine is if the coffee isn’t hot then don’t bother! The staff were very gracious to heat my coffee in the microwave every morning.
The location was central and had nearby subways.
I was expecting to use the Juliet balcony and the rooftop. However, the noise and the view was less than stellar. No views. It was very annoying to have loud music playing on the rooftop in the evening.
New York is noisy- depending on what floor and what side of the hotel you stay on will determine the noise level. Lots of construction. Weekends are noisy. Bring your earplugs.
I think this hotel was overpriced based on the other hotels I stayed in for this trip. I was expecting it to be a lot nicer.

I liked everything about this hotel. Relaxing and friendly. Comfortable and clean. Lovely breakfast staff. Tea and coffee available all day. Spot on.

Lobby was large and nice. No problem storing luggage on early arrival. Room was well decorated, comfortable, clean and reasonably quiet (for NYC). Loved the small balcony onto which we could place our chair and ottoman, though Park Ave view would have been better. Rooftop was empty in April, but a nice escape. Included breakfast was modest but certainly adequate with consistently good coffee. All staff we encountered were pleasant. Great central location. Try Sundays Well, nearby.
Some small cosmetic demerits: An empty cabinet for a refrigerator (we did not expect one, but would have been nice), holes in the beside tables where once were lights apparently.
