Location. Staff.
The heat was off and the room was freezing when we arrived. We turned it on and it was very loud, and made the room extremely dry and uncomfortable. The bathroom sink was dirty upon arrival. And in the morning of check-out, the elevator kept passing our floor, we kept pushing the button but the light on the button was not staying on indicating it wasn’t working properly. I had to call the front desk to ask them to send it up to the 6th floor. And it did, but with someone in it going up higher. We had to get i. To go up to go down. We were late getting where we needed to go. Very frustrating. We have stayed here many times and it’s the first time we had so many issues.

Very friendly staff. Like having a kitchenette. Easy walking distance to restaurants, bakeries, and Central Park.
Could use a little sprucing up on paint etc, but not terrible. There system to send a confirmation code to become an “Insider” does not work. Call them if you want their discount. Otherwise Booking was cheaper.

the room i was given originally was ridiculously small. when I arranged to get a larger room, which was only $30 more a night, I received a room that was almost twice as large with a table, reading chair and desk. It seems to me that the queen size room was either too small to be charged the rate that I paid or the king room was very cheap. I would have liked to have known before hand exactky what I was buying in terms of space and ammenities, As this was the 2nd time that I stayed at the Beacon, I was quite disappointed and inconvenienced by the 2 day wait for a larger room and for my inability to unpack until well into my visit.

Nice location if you want to be on the UWS. Close to the subway and many of the UWS attractions. Nice sized room with a nice view.
Bathroom and kitchenette could use a bit of a refresh. Seemingly no security around who gets in the elevator to go upstairs.
