Excellent location within short walking distance of Penn Station, West 28th Street Subway and West 23rd Street Subway. Also for those who like longer walks it is possible to be in the centre of Manhattan within 20 to 30 minutes of walking . I walked to Broadway, The Lower East Side, Greenwich Village, Soho, Meatpacking District, River Hudson and Highline from here. The area felt very safe for me as a solo female traveller. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and the front of house staff were pleasant.
The lobby is very small with a front desk and an area to leave your suitcases but there is no lounge or bar for residents to relax in /hang out. As a solo traveller on a short stay who wanted to spend my days out and about exploring that was fine but I know many people would see this as a negative. If I come back to New York with friends I'll probably select a hotel that has these facilities. No included breakfast and you have to pay 24 dollars to eat breakfast in the restaurant but that was fine for me as I don't eat a big breakfast and there were a number of good cheaper options around in nearby coffee shops/cafes.

Recently stayed in room 2508, which has the most amazing view of the city with the empire state right there in front of you. Couldn't ask for more.
Staff all very friendly. Room clean.
There was only two cups supplied and two coffee pods a day. As we we were a 3, I would of liked an extra cup and a few more pods. Though I expect this could of been sorted had I remembered to ask in the mornings. The corridors could do with a refresh, especially to a lighter colour. It's currently a dark grey and quite tired looking.

Especially if you can get a room on the upper floors, the views out the windows are so exceptional you will feel like you are getting a good deal even if you rarely pay so much for a hotel room. The rooms are totally quiet and comfortable with a king-sized bed that makes you feel like a king in Manhattan.

Disappointing
The shower was terrible.
The shower was horrible. Low water pressure. There were moments when the water would get super hot and moments when it would get freezing cold. Very bad. The housekeepers were on their phones talking the whole time while cleaning the rooms. It's impossible to sleep in. Statt from Front desk was really rude to me.
I always travel and make my reservations through Booking.com, and at the end of my stay, the amount is automatically charged to the card registered on the app. I didn't have the physical card with me to show them. I told them I had other cards and asked what could be done. She laughed at me, which was very embarrassing. In the end, she offered a solution. I had to register a new card in a big rush, and she had no patience to explain what I was doing. Finally, I signed an authorization for another card I had. It was a very embarrassing experience.
