Wonderful
A very convenient location, close to the subway and food/drink/coffee options, walking distance from Morningside Park/Central Park, and even walkable to the Harlem YMCA. Staying in a brownstone was a special and unique experience. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and our room was very warm and cozy. Even though we weren’t the only people in the house, we felt like we were, and I appreciated the privacy.

Harlem Grand is a beautiful old brownstone building with a very homely feel. I stayed in one of the top rooms with access to the kitchen. The room itself was beautiful, and it had a huge vvv comfy bed. Harlem Grand is on a quiet street so it’s very peaceful at night too. Having access to the kitchen was brilliant - it’s got everything you need. I absolutely loved the area as well. I’m from London where people never stop to chat to you and they did in this neighbourhood on a few separate occasions. There’s loads of shops and restaurants nearby too so you can pick up whatever you need. It’s super well connected - loads of trains run from the two nearby subway stations, so it’s easy to get wherever you want to go. A few recommendations: - If you’re a runner, I ran with Harlem Run one evening who are a really friendly and welcoming bunch of people. - Sottocasa is a local pizza place which I loved. - Walk to Central Park if you can. It’s not far and the northern part of the park is beautiful. Lastly, Kellyn and her team were lovely and welcoming. She gave me some great advice and tips during my stay, and the cleaner was very understanding when I was late to check out because I got stuck on a non-moving subway train.

The room was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The neighbourhood was good as long as you went in the right direction otherwise it was quite rough.

Very close to A line, 2 stops to Times Square and very easy to get around by subway. Supermarket close by. We were on top floor had shared small kitchenette. The room had a lovely decor and was clean, even though issue with bath tub not draining properly, did advise host so she is aware. Host was very informative when we checked in, restaurant recommendations and supermarkets and how to get around which was very helpful.
Shower in bathtub, which was deep, so need to be careful getting in and out! Is an old building so bare that in mind, no lift, we were on third floor, if you have any mobility issues, not suitable. We had friends staying in the other room on top floor with us so shared kitchenette on top floor worked for us, but not sure how it would work with strangers sharing it. Was a bit apprehensive with the location initially, did see some sights, but overall felt safe.

Our room was ok, bathroom was very small. Room smelt ok as there were several room deodorants. We used the underground A train which was very convenient.
The building is very old & the entry meeting area & steps up to the rooms smell very musty.

Lovely property in a great area. Kellyn, who owns the property, was very helpful and provide a lot of information about the area. A short journey into central New York, but very easy on the subway.

Quirky old building.
As there were a microwave & fridge in the room we assumed there would be basic cutlery, plates and cups. None were actually available.

I had a fantastic stay! The property was clean and very comfortable. My room was spacious, with all the facilities, plenty of storage, and a big bathroom. The decoration was also very cozy and I really felt at home. The property is close to all the main metro lines and in a lively area full of cafes, shops, and restaurants. Yet, it is very quiet and it is easy to sleep there. The owner gave me a warm welcome and was always available via WhatsApp to answer questions. Highly recommended and I will certainly come back!

The location was fabulous to take the bus and subway to visit the city, it was close to grocery stores and some nice restaurants. The hostess was so warm and inviting upon arrival sharing information about the facilities, suggestions for transportation, local grocery stores, tips to save $$$, just a wealth of info. There was free parking all weekend which was a great surprise and much appreciated. The little kitchen was very handy. The room was spacious and comfortable. They even had a one time laundry service which was a BONUS!!
The shower and bathroom was very tight. The sink area was also very tight and we hit our heads a few times while trying to wash our faces.

Kellen was very friendly and gave a fantastic welcome, where she told us about the city, the area, dining options, and transportation. She thoroughly went over the room and provided her WhatsApp account so we could always contact her with any questions. The room—we got the yellow one—was spacious and cozy, with a charming old-world atmosphere. There was plenty of space, free laundry service, a small kitchen where you could prepare a light meal, coffee, and a fridge. The room also had a large TV. The area is amazing and offers a great contrast to the typical hotels in Manhattan. Highly recommended! Evenings in Harlem feel safe, and you’ll have many fun, original experiences in a multicultural community.
