Very nice authentic apartments in beautiful Harlem house.Very good location- close to Subway line A- you can reach all New York highlights easely. Very nice and pleasant host provide you all information you need
Soundproofing a bit poor bet it's normal in old and authentic house.

The room and host were amazing. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable, and the host was great with information and very approachable. It was easily located next to a subway to take you into downtown. I would definitely stay again if I am lucky enough to get to New York again
The location is okay but the further you go into Harlem the sketchier it is. It was the only place that didn't feel fully safe especially at night

Nice location close to central Park, lovely landlord, very clean (I liked a lot the no shoes policy in the house), the kitchen in the hallways was very practical and nice for breakfast ( coming from EU in the US you often wake up very early and making your own coffee instead of going out at 5am was very pleasant)

I loved the space, the fusion of art, history, story-telling. There was so much care and beauty in the room, all the details contributed to a space of safety, comfort and belonging. I loved that the rooms are named after Black artists who did extraordinary things - that added to the richness of the experience.
For the cost, I would expect breakfast.

Excellent location in Harlem, within walking distance of Barnard/Columbia campuses and all the restaurants and shops of Harlem. Super clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly owner, great communication throughout our stay.
"Free Parking" listed on booking.com is just on-street parking, which is kind of a pain (as expected in Manhattan). But it worked out okay.

The property and room was to an excellent standard. This was the most important part of any booking. When we first walking to the building it was very much what you see in the movies. The room was very impressive, with a large king size bed, sofa, smart tv, microwave, hair dryer, iron etc. we had a bath and although we didn’t actually get to use it, this was one of the points that drew me to Harlem Grand. Additionally, on the first day we had an incredibly interesting induction, by the land lady who was super helpful and pleasant which would help any new comers to New York, such as where the local shops, restaurants, public transport and the best way to get around. We found this very useful and guided us for the week we stayed there.
The only point which I can mention was not having a kettle in the room. We ended up microwaving the water for coffee and tea, there is a local cafe around the corner if you want a hot drink. We managed very well.
Otherwise, no issues at all.
