easy check in, and we even got our room before 3;00 pm. Room was clean, and for NYC standards, not too small. Good location, 10 minutes walk to Penn Station (train).
Friendly staff.
The only problem we had was that one (out of two) elevators was not working, for our entire stay (two nights). That was very inconvenient, because taking the stairs was not an option for us, and so, we had to wait up to 25 minutes for an elevator. We were told they were waiting for a replacement part.

The mattress and bedding are not the same quality as other Hamptons Inns. They're poor quality and uncomfortable. Only one operating elevator for 20 story building during our stay.

Location is great. And breakfast isn't to bad. Changes everyday, kind of.
It gets extremely crowded because it's so small. Only two elevators that take forever, take the stairs, even if on 15th floor. You'll beat elevators. It could be cleaner. We had hair everywhere in bathroom and on bed. Blood on a couple spots on both beds.

The midtown location was great. Very close to Herald Square subway stop. Easy to jump on the subway to get to lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. It’s an easy walk to Times Square and Rockefeller Center area.

The staff is very helpful, both at the front desk and at breakfast, especially a gray-haired gentleman. The breakfast is very good American style, served from 6:00 to 10:00 (omelette or scrambled eggs, waffles, some animal protein, begals, bread, muffins, 3 types of cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, 4 types of juice, coffee, 2 types of fruit and a few other items that I don't remember). Free, high-quality internet, fantastic location. They clean the rooms every day. When I return to New York, this will be my place to stay again.
I stayed on the third floor overlooking 35th Street. It can be very noisy in the morning. There are many restaurants on the street and many trucks go there to remove oil from the kitchens. The garbage trucks are also very noisy. There are many people smoking marijuana on the street. There is a dispensary on the corner. The smell of marijuana smoke can sometimes enter the room.
