We loved everything! It was still a big cost for our budget, but it's NYC! We loved the easy walk from the train station to our hotel. The staff is great! The rooftop bar was amazing - post card views of NYC at night! The room was super comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was incredible. We loved the breakfast. Fabulous stay!
Everything in NYC is crazy expensive!

Good location, close proximity to Penn Station.
This hotel was advertised as a 4 star, it is a 3 star at best. No hot water on a daily basis during our stay which the hotel advised was due to work outside the hotel.

Excelent location, just a few steps from Madison Square Garden.
They had 3 elevators, 1 in Schedule Maintenance, 1 out of order and the last one being operated by an Engineer like in the 50s. Took for ever to go up and down. Front desk staff suggested to have patience or to use the stairs...20 something floors building. Ridiculous!
There was no hot shower. Gave notice about the problem 3 times. They didn't do much more than just apologize.
Finally, when I checked out, they promised "one free night" worth of Bonvoy points. That didn't happened so far.
Not what I was expecting at all from a 4 stars Marriott, $400+ a night hotel.

Imagine paying 410 USD per night at a hotel, and having to shower with cold water during your entire your stay. Extremely dissatisfied.

Front desk do try to help
When I arrived at 4 a.m., I found blood stains on the sheets, which made it impossible to sleep, though I didn’t have the energy to deal with it at that hour. The next day, after I complained, I discovered that someone had simply left folded clean bedding in the room without actually cleaning it or changing the bed.
Throughout my stay, two out of three elevators were not working, so I often had to wait up to 10 minutes just to get in or out of the hotel.
Additionally, the staff couldn’t provide clear directions to Newark Airport (EWR), which was surprising given that this is the Penn Station hotel.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.

It’s so convenient, we rode Amtrak to NY. City, crossed the street to the hotel. The next morning had breakfast, walked around the city, and Ubered to the cruise ship.

Shawn at the reception desk was quite Possibly THE NICEST person in NYC. I was in town for a Bryan Adams concert that I've waited my whole life to see and the highlights from the weekend were Shawn and Bryan Adams ! Haha
