The location is the only pro.
The room had a strong sewage odor. I reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done to address the issue. The staff didn’t seem interested in helping and were not particularly friendly. Breakfast options were very limited, with almost nothing edible and it’s not an overstatement. The bread and pancakes tasted almost like plastic. The only pastries available were prepackaged muffins, and overall, the food quality was very poor. Additionally, the bedsheet had a hole. Overall, the hotel does not feel like a 4-star property.

Location is more than perfect. Comfy bed. Spectacular views from the room. Good sizing
Carpet was not properly cleaned (coffee stains were still wet and there was an unpleasant smell overall). The toilet was clogged and the bathroom plug was malfunctioning, requiring several calls and over an hour’s wait before someone came to fix it. The breakfast room was under renovation, and the reduced offering was quite mediocre — they even ran out of milk at 8:30 am. The rooftop bar was also closed and inaccessible. As a Bonvoy member, my stay did not meet the minimum Marriott standards I expect (to clarify, the free upgrade and late check- out for gold members was granted after requesting it)

Very clean and quiet
There was a handle in the shower that was broken before I had gotten there. Also, there was a point I was trying to sleep in and I could hear the cleaning staff being fairly noisy.

The staff was nice.
We had an issue in our room. We went to the front desk and they moved us to another room. Once we got to the other room there was a sign on the door saying not to enter until management approval. We had to go back down to get a manager and I asked him to escort me up to look at the room.

Good central location so travel to main attractions doesn’t take long. Walking distance to MSG and Times Square. Close to subway stations, and right opposite Penn Station for Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road. Large, spacious room. Friendly staff that allowed us to have a late check out with no problems. Requested a fridge for our room which was also supplied quickly.
Breakfast wasn’t great as the only vegan options were cereal and fruit. They were undergoing maintenance so the breakfast was located in the lobby so maybe they usually have more options but on this occasion options were very limited. Room doors closed very loudly so constant banging was very annoying as hotel guests were not very considerate.
