Location was excellent, in the heart of Manhattan. A central base to walk from, and very easy to catch the tube if you want to travel outside of the main hub. Staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable.
Overpriced for the size of room and amenities, but this is to be expected in New York. At times service was slow because there only ever seemed to be one or two people working in the front area, at a time. A couple of times I asked a staff member a question and they told me I had to wait to speak to the person whose job that was (for example, I asked a man in the front reception if he could give me information about airport transfers, and he told me I needed to wait for the porter as that was his job). The porter was also responsible for luggage and in a busy hotel, was not just hanging about to answer questions, so this 'role specifity' seemed a bit silly. The gym was tiny and could only really fit a handful of people at a time and it smelt damp in the basement.
