Wonderful
Location was amazing one block and very short walk to Grand Central Station so transportation was so easy. Public Library and Bryant Park were also very close distance.

Very Good
The staff was very accommodating. I had a problem with the first room I was given because of illegal night time construction across the street. As soon as I mentioned it, they found me another room up higher and on the other side of the building. That room was very peaceful.
I think the owners did a nice job of upgrading and decorating the property, and it was very comfortable. I liked the location, near Grand Central Station, Fifth Avenue, and all of Midtown. Easy access to transportation anywhere by subway or walking.

Wonderful
I loved the unique room design and overall esthetic. Although it think that the chemist theme could have been bumped up even more. Staff were incredibly friendly and responsive. I loved the complimentary check in mini-bar. The gym was very nice too. The size of the room is huge.
I didn't necessarily like that there was no view outside the room window or way to look out. So it felt kind of like a cave. No, way to tell if it's even light or dark outside!

The thoughtful decor, the linen, the location. the guest amenities and attention to detail- proper Nespresso machine - everything was on point! Beautiful!
Nothing -minor item - but didn’t affect my liking of the property is that I wish they had a soap holder in the shower as assumes you are using the hotel soaps and there is nowhere to put your own soaps ?

The hotel was clean and new since I believe it was recently renovated. The staff was friendly.
The bathroom was too small . And we prefer the hand shower for the shower area.

This is a beautiful hotel.
We paid $800/night for a suite and the value just wasn’t there. It was nice, but I wouldn’t choose it again for the money.

Outstanding. Gorgeous, contemporary decor with a nod to its vintage apothecary/chemist lab roots. The staff was exceptional in every way. Matthew, the manager, was especially welcoming and delightful to chat with, while Lance's sincere friendliness and well wishes really brought a bright start to our day each morning. We had the pleasure of spending 5 days and 4 nights at The Chemist and it was really an oasis in the middle of the city. We booked the Deluxe King room and it was an ample size for my husband and I during the stay. There is a Nespresso machine(original pods, not Venturo) & a mini fridge in the deluxe king rooms. Bottled water was replenished daily and there were snacks and soft drinks upon our arrival. I travel to the city quite often and I may have found my home away from home here!
We were out and about a lot, returning for a quick shower before heading out again to evenings on Broadway or late dinners, so having additional towels would help! :) The staff always brought them immediately when requested, however! :)

Small toilets, no room service, no in-house laundry service, rooms not insulated

Very Good
The property is located near Grand Central Station which gave us access easy access to any part of town. It is also close to Madison Ave and Fifth street and many restaurants. The room was bright and clean and very quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and nice. We also ate at Benjamin’s next door, very good steaks.
The water pressure in the bathroom is not the best. I had to use the hand held shower to get some pressure.

Would have liked an extra blanket and pillows in closet as an option to use without having to call the front desk.

The shower over sprayed onto the floor. Couldn’t adjust this, purely design.

Wonderful
Amazing service, the bellman is very kind and helpful. The staff was willing to do something special for our honeymoon and had a beautiful flower petal arrangement and champagne for us. They even cleaned it up without a trace the next day.
The pricing around the time we went was too much for the size of the room.
