Prime location, friendly staff, soft comfortable bed in a well-decorated room.
No restaurant, bar with limited hours, loud construction noise.

Pleasant
Good location, friendly staff, really comfortable bed, free hot drinks in morning and glass of wine 5-7pm each evening!
It was a great location but it is busy so noisy, especially at the front of the hotel where you hear the rattle of a manhole cover when traffic goes over it and the machinery of construction site opposite. Ear plugs helped and after first night I got used to it. Hotel is currently covered in scaffolding and rooms at back of hotel have no natural light coming in as a result. Ok if you’re out all day, lots of positives to hotel so this was not a huge issue, just a bit disappointing when we first arrived, would’ve been good to have had some warning about the scaffolding prior to arrival, the hotel did not look like the impressive picture, I’m sure it will again one day.

Location and price were perfect. It’s exactly what I needed.
Small problems in the bathroom, but nothing that was horrible enough to describe. All workable.

Disappointing
Room 1017
There is an intermittent fault with the shower - it only seems to give the guest lots of lovely hot water when the maintenance guys are in the room!
Over my 4 day stay it worked Saturday and Sunday morning. No hot water in the room on Sunday evening or Monday morning. I alerted the reception as I left the hotel in the morning - when I got back in the afternoon nothing had been done ( I was asked to go upstairs and check it again myself) maintenance arrived and looked at shower ( great, but I was unable to rest while this was happening)
Shower worked Tuesday morning but not on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning .
I wish the hotel had been more sympathetic and tried to sort the problem immediately without me having to complain twice. The maintenance guys were great but I couldn't use the room to rest while they looked at the shower. This is obviously an intermittent fault so the guys think it is sorted but then they go away and it breaks down again. Having no hot water was awful! It would have been nice to be given an alternative room.
I hope you will give some kind of refund .

Nothing
This was, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience of my life. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property to stay somewhere else.
The biggest issue started at check-in. The treatment at the front desk was unacceptable, particularly from Shay Smith. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and unwilling to properly explain the transactions she was making. Instead of helping, she made the entire process unnecessarily stressful and confusing. It felt like basic customer service was completely absent.
On top of that, the hotel environment itself is terrible. There is active construction directly in front of the property, and the noise is constant and overwhelming. Getting any rest is nearly impossible. Even worse, the noise doesn’t stop inside the hotel—room doors offer zero sound insulation. You can hear everything happening in the hallway as if the door were open, which completely ruins any sense of privacy or comfort.
Between the poor service and the unbearable noise, this stay was a complete disaster. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone under any circumstances.

Good
I stayed at the Ameritania Hotel in New York and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The hotel looks very worn out and outdated, nothing like what you would expect for the price they charge.
The doors in the rooms are chipped and scratched, the furniture feels old, and everything looks like it hasn’t been renovated in many years. For such an expensive hotel, the quality is far below expectations.
The coffee they serve is very poor quality, which is surprising for a hotel in this price range. The reception area is also not well maintained — the couches are torn and look dirty, giving a bad first impression as soon as you enter.
Overall, the cost is extremely high for what the hotel actually offers. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone looking for comfort or good value in New York.

Very Poor
The location
I booked and paid for a deluxe room, but unfortunately I was given a room that clearly did not meet that standard. It was located on the second floor with no proper view—only stones.
The overall condition of the room was unacceptable. It was very dirty, the furniture was old and worn, the shower was broken, and the carpet was extremely dirty. Additionally, the sound insulation was very poor—I could hear every word from the neighboring room.
Furthermore, I found the attitude of the reception staff to be unprofessional and arrogant, which made the situation even more disappointing.
Overall, my experience was extremely unsatisfactory.
