the room was spacious, the halls smelled like clean laundry, and the kitchenette was a surprise! staff was friendly and helpful, went above and beyond. i felt welcomed by the staff!
the free wi-fi! it was very unreliable and spotty. :( i feel bad about complaining, because it IS free, after all, but that's the only part that i didn't like.

This place is much better than what some comments say - yes, it's dated, but it's great value for money, considering NY prices. It's clean, staff was great, there's also a laundry room, two bus stops right outside and the subway within 15 minutes of walking. We got a free upgrade to a nicer room on the 5th floor with a lovely view of the Manhattan in the distance. I'd stay here again, as the price/quality ratio is excellent.
Overall, the hotel is dated and requires renovation/modernization, the breakfast is very limited (but hey, it's something!) and the neighborhood is probably the dirtiest in NY.

The shower got very hot.
There was mold all over the grout lines in the shower, I am not convinced it was very clean. Calling any work they’ve done on this place “lipstick on a pig” would be too generous. It was horribly disgusting.

Great value for money, good location, spacious rooms with high ceilings, change of linen and towels every day, great breakfasts with bagels (thanks Guadalupe!), very friendly and helpful staff.
Neighbourhood wasn't the most exciting but close to Williamsburg and bars. Hotel a little bit old but functional.
