Sonesta was an amazing stay for us. Location was ideal, with a 10 min walk and then 4 min subway ride, you're in Manhattan. Property was quiet and safe. Felt confident leaving our car parked for 3 nights (drove from Canada). The room was very large with a full kitchen including a stove top, microwave, dishwasher, and full sized fridge. Super convenient train/subway travel to Hoboken, and NYC. We were right next to the elevator but our room was so silent. The bed and shower were really nice. Less than 5 minute walk to the water to see the NYC skyline.
The AC wouldn't stay where we set it. When we came back from walking and sweating for 12 hours, the room sat at 71 when it was set at 66 (the lowest), which felt warm when we hoped for an ice cold room. It's like the AC just didn't stay cold through the day, and it took ages to cool down for the evening/night. We were on the back of the building where the train goes by constantly. This didn't bother us as the windows did a good job at muffling the sound and we aren't normally too bothered by noise anyway. The toilet was too high to comfortably sit on.
