Location
Dirty the furniture was old and worn. The screws were coming out of the vanity in the bathroom the bed when you moved around in it creeks and made noise so it woke me up. Was not a good experience.

We didn't have a car, so we utilized public transportation. There is a bus stop about a 5 min walk from the hotel. There was a Walmart and various fastfood restaurants nearby. There is also a great breakfast place (Pontilly Coffee) within walking distance. The staff was friendly and tried hard to be helpful, but it felt like things were often out of their control. Towels were replaced daily and bed linens at 3 days.
Where do I start? No one was at the desk when we arrived (she showed up after a few minutes- this was a frequent issue... no one at the desk). She acknowledged that I had paid online, but she ended up charging me again (took 2 trips to the desk to get that resolved). Once in our room, we discovered that the TV wouldn't work (we were advised that all the TVs in the hotel had recently been replaced, but they didn't have new remotes for them... really?? In fairness this issue was addressed the next day). A killed a small cockroach in our room... fortunately it was the only one I saw. "Breakfast" is a joke... cold cereal, a few small, sad muffins, waffles (couldn't make them as some of the needed supplies were MIA), no fruit. At least there was coffee. After the first day we didn't even bother... we went out for bfast. Hallway near our room often strongly smelled of curry cooking. Housekeeping left our room door ajar- not standing open, but not latched shut- anyone could have pushed it open and entered. Boxes of old TVs and other supplies were frequently strewn about in hallways and the breakfast room. The middle of one night there was a man and woman screaming and cursing at each other in the hallway. On day 6 of our 7 night stay there was a torrential downpour and we woke up in the morning to a leaking ceiling right over our bed- to their credit they were very apologetic and promptly moved us to another room (we were also comped a later checkout on departure day). In the new room there was a mismatched toilet- it was an oblong, oval bowl with a round seat, so there was a gap at the front. We were also informed by a friend that lives in New Orleans that the area of the hotel has a reputation of being unsafe (although we were often out and about walking and had zero issues).
I am a budget traveler- I don't splurge on expensive hotels because I don't usually spend a lot of time in them... it's a place to keep my stuff and sleep in.

The location is really good and the staff is nice and the room itself was really nice and clean.
My tv remote didn’t have batteries or a back on it,the laundry room was out of order, the shower liner was a little dirty and there was no hair dryer intact just the holder for it.

The location was good, the room was big and comfortable and the price was affordable.
The continental breakfast offered was lacking in variety. There was no fruit option, no juice, and nothing other than a waffle maker and white bread to make hot breakfast. The variety of cereal was poor, but the yogurt was okay.
No tags were available for the door to refue housekeeping, so housekeeping "cleaned" our room several times. They changed the towels and linens, but they did not clean the bathroom nor changed the trash bins, as the same dead roach stayed visibly on the bathroom floor one of the days they came to "clean". We did not request the housekeeping nor did we cared for having it one way or the other, but if they are coming, at least a sweep to the bathroom floor would be appreciated.
The main office was usually empty. The exterior of the hotel is not too inviting.
