Be aware using third party booking sites as staff may not understand how the details work out and you could end up being overcharged. I almost was overcharged by 100 but I figured out the issue. I paid full price to Zip pay but the property had not charged the Zip card but half. I was asked to pay the other half. I had to explain that my end was covered and that she had not charged the card on her end.
Edit: Manager reached out due to this review and spoke in a very condescending and patronizing way telling me my comprehension must be lacking because I must not be aware of how Booking.com charges rates.

Historic Does Not Justify Poor Cleanliness
I stayed at this property during a conference, and unfortunately, the level of cleanliness was far below acceptable standards.
While the floors appeared superficially clean, areas not in direct view told a very different story. Behind and under the bed, inside drawers, behind furniture, inside the lamps, and along the walls, there was heavy dust accumulation with dense fiber-like debris that resembled hair buildup. It was not typical light cobwebbing — it appeared to be long-standing, layered dust and lint that had not been properly cleaned. For anyone with dust allergies, this environment could be very problematic.
There were visible signs of poor maintenance, including deteriorating wood, insect presence (including cockroaches in the room), and an air conditioning unit with visible mold and dirt buildup, which raises serious health concerns.
The bed itself was uneven and defective. Although it was replaced after I complained, the issue was not fully resolved.
Breakfast was advertised from 8:00–10:00 AM. Since we were attending a conference that started at 8:00 AM, we requested a slightly earlier setup, but this was declined. Additionally, breakfast was not consistently ready at 8:00, making it unusable for guests with early schedules.
I understand that the property promotes itself as a historic building. However, I live in Louisiana in a historic shotgun house that is over 100 years old and is properly maintained, clean, and free of mold and pest issues. Historic character does not justify poor sanitation or neglected upkeep.
The only positive aspect was the location.
When I later reached out regarding a billing/tax question, I received no response.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this property unless significant improvements are made in cleanliness, maintenance, and communication.

Loved this place. So comfortable and easy to stay. Very very welcoming and encouraged a sense of community. Could not be more dog friendly, which really reduces the stress. Location was great. I just loved it all!
I should have made the reservation for a room with a fridge. My fault, completely.

The staff were truly amazing! We got fabulous recommendations, fabulous food, and felt very welcome! Offered us a beer when we arrived early. They stored our luggage until they could get our room in order.
What with the food and the drinking, we seemed to have challenged the plumbing.
