The hotel lobby is amazing, very modern and cool. We loved our stay. The staff was very courteous and nice. We dine at the Hau Tree restaurante and the waiter Juan was amazing. High recommended

Everything was great until the last day! On the last day of departure they charged us an additional $1,200 - just a scam! Wherever we go, I always pay the full cost of the stay in advance on Booking and no one else has ever charged a single cent!!! And these guys said some kind of extra percentage for each day.

A hidden gem in Waikiki – I didn’t want to leave
I honestly loved everything about Kaimana Beach Hotel. Even though it’s a known name in Waikiki, it still feels like one of those places you want to keep to yourself because it’s just that good.
Mornings here are something else – I’d step out onto the balcony, take in the view, and feel like I was right in the middle of the ocean. Then it was straight down for a swim in the most beautiful, calm water you can imagine. The sunsets? Absolutely unforgettable. And the location is spot on – peaceful and away from the noise, but close enough to walk into Waikiki whenever you want.
The ocean breeze keeps everything fresh, so no sticky heat and no mosquitoes – just comfort. The staff are genuinely kind and clearly take pride in what they do. And having Hau Tree right inside the hotel is such a treat – it’s one of Waikiki’s coolest spots, and you can just wander down for a drink or dinner without leaving “home.”
Evenings had this lovely buzz – the lobby would fill with people, music and laughter drifting in, and it felt like you were part of something special. On a couple of mornings, a Hawaiian monk seal swam by, totally at ease, and everyone watched quietly – it felt like such a privilege.
And right behind the hotel is Kapiʻolani Regional Park, perfect for a morning walk. The fact that the resort fee includes yoga classes was the cherry on top for me.
Like everywhere else in Waikiki, the combination of resort fee and valet parking tops $100 a night. It feels like all the hotels got together on this one – a bit of a “bitter sweet” aloha. But honestly, the charm of Kaimana almost makes you forget it. Almost.

The location on the beach was fantastic!
The front desk rarely answered the phone. Tasks were done slowly or not at all. The hotel restaurant had terrible breakfast food.

Nice views from the room directly on the beach.
We were charged a resort fee on check out which was not outlined in the pricing on Bookings, when questioned we were told that it was a formatting problem. If you add $40 a night on top of the advertised fee you can get much better accomodation for the same price.
Rooms need re painting and updating..

Wonderful
AMAZING location- away from the bustle of the main Waikiki strip, sweet beach, mix of locals and tourists. Snorkeling when conditions are good. Really enjoyed the free amenities that came with our stay: lei making, star gazing, yoga, and paddle boarding. Sad that they cancelled the ukelele class. Staff was consistently friendly. A/C was good. Nicely appointed lobby w free sunscreen.
The room was a bit tatty- the carpet could use replacing. The kitchenette could have used a lot more plates, bowls, serving bowls, etc. to be useful. Housekeeping was fine but a bit inconsistent. The loaner bikes we were told would be available were all out of commission, which was too bad. Also the hotel doesn't have enough beach chairs for all the guests so they run out early.

It’s a old building but the decor is beautiful and it’s really cozy, I just like the vibe. Very chill, excelent location, beautiful beach, the view from the room was espectacular and the food really tasty. We truly love the hotel and enjoy our stay so much.
