The beds are comfortable and the sheets are clean and crispy. I loved the fireplaces. We stayed in two different suites. The Abbey suite was large and had 2 bathrooms and had two different rooms.
The Abbey suite was right next to the check-in desk, you can hear everything below and around you. Although we parked right in front of the hotel, which the desk is staffed 24 hrs, our car was still broken into. We had nothing in the car but they did mess everything up and took a car charger.

Very old building which I like. Original elevator with iron retractable door. So cool. Fireplace in room and lovely dining area. I thought this place was a value and quite charming/unique.

This is such a wonderful hotel. Great staff, wonderful rooms to work, chat, eat and relax. I love the breakfast and afternoon snack and you get to chill in the downstairs rooms (cozy artsy vibes). The breakfast includes hard boiled eggs, equator coffee, numi teas, oatmeal, pastries, granola, yogurt, fruit, etc. It is such a special place. Afternoon snack includes wine, cheese, and fruit. The rooms are eclectic, spacious and fun. You get a coffee maker with starbucks coffee and a fridge with waters and sparkling waters. It is a 10 minute walk to union square. Lots of restaurants nearby. Close to chinatown and union square.

The location is excellent and close to several important transit lines (#1 Muni bus, Powell and California Cable Car lines). The room was very spacious. The hotel features a nice library and sitting room. The room and the hotel common areas are nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel held my luggage before and after my stay. The staff were mostly professional and helpful.
The furnace still threw off heat even when it was in the off position. The dial was behind a light fixture and it took me a while to find it. There was a constant low hum from a compressor on top of a nearby building. The breakfast was not very good with a lot of low-quality carbs and not a lot of protein. I was disappointed that I did not get maid service other than the room having been made up before check in.

The room was roomy, cozy, and wonderfully unique. The fireplace was the gem of the room which was operated with a switch at bedside. The refrigerator was stocked with bottled water and cans of sparkling water, at no extra fee. The wine reception was done well and breakfast was included and delicious.

Breakfast was very good. The location was close to the trolly line and in a fairly safe part of the City.
The decor and furnishings were older and smelled dusty. They were not up to speed on electric outlets for technology.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel has a colorful, old-school charm with a vintage elevator that gives it character. Everything was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
