Famed bars, an awe-inspiring crystal chandelier restaurant, a fitness area and a glass dome indoor pool are featured at this landmark Financial District Palace. Elegant historic hotel in downtown San Francisco with a stunning lobby, unforgettable breakfast, and all the beauty of old 5-star charm.
The pool was cold and somewhat unclean, the advertised wellness area lacked saunas, and, something I personally dislike in any hotel: the windows couldn’t be opened at all.

We had tea, brunch and coffee service at this property. All were excellent The tea was a 2.5 hour wonderful experience with a dear friend. We never felt rushed and it was busy. The brunch was also delightful. Very busy but we lingered over coffee for an hour. Great food. Exceptional service.

Pool, bar, friendly staff, beautiful facilities
I waited for over 45 minutes to try to get breakfast three consecutive days before giving up each time. They did not look that busy but long lines each morning discouraged me from waiting. They need to hire more restaurant staff. Major disappointment of never being able to eat in that gorgeous room!

Everything except one important mistake.
This was a birthday present, and I (the guests' mother/MIL) specifically asked and received assurance from the hotel staff that ALL incidental charges would be placed on my credit card, which I registered in advance with the hotel. Unfortunately, that agreement was not honored by the staff. I am VERY unhappy. I have had to ask my son to get a reimbursement from me, which is like leaving the price tag on the gift. Tacky, but necessary.
