I had been there once before and had a lovely experience. This time around it was problematic.
The walls were paper thin, the toilet didn’t work, and there was no phone in the room to call the front desk.

We always look for bigger rooms, that have a table or a desk, so we booked the bigger room. The location was central to Union Square. We walked a lot and used the public transport systems (get the Clipper application). The restaurant and bar are great with musicians often playing.
The menu in the restaurant was a little limited for my non seafood eating husband.

The aesthetic of the hotel was nice and it had a vintage feel to it. It's in a good location and has a lot of food options and tourist type activities nearby. Parking was also nearby which was also nice.
The room was extremely small. We got a queen room but it didn't look anything like the pictures on their website. The room was basically the size of the bed, with very little room to maneuver or store luggage.
They also didn't mention anything about a "destination fee" of $25 per night, and didn't say anything about this at the front desk. They just charge your incidentals CC after you leave with this fee + any parking charges. It felt very dishonest and shady.

I didn’t like how close the bathroom was to the bed. It was hard to walk by and also the sink and toilet were too low. The shower didn’t have a curtain so the water kept spilling out. There were lots of noises from upstairs but I assume thats from other guests.

Such a cute, modern hotel! Great, clean facilities and right in the center of everything. We got a really good deal and it was definitely worth the price!
It can be a little noisy at night but it wasn’t too bad, we were able to sleep just fine.

Good location and cleanliness
No parking on site. Parking structure near by was $42 dollars a night. No phone inside of your room, you have to go all the way to the front desk if there is a problem. No amenities!! however they charge you a $25 daily fee for amenities which they say is the use of their umbrellas the bar upstairs which is open and free to the public that walks in and not even staying at the resort and the complementary water dispenser that’s only available sometimes’ upon check In the receptionist didn’t tell me what floor I was on or how to get to my room. She handed me a key, turned her head and began talking to the next person in line.

When I first arrived, I was a little surprised by the small lobby, elevator and room. However, the staff was exceedingly helpful, and the room, though small, had a comfortable bed, hot water in the shower, a cozy bathrobe, nice soaps and shampoos, and there were no disturbances from other guests.
Bonus - second floor has a restaurant that advertises martinis and oysters, I did not get to partake this time, but I will next.
The WiFi was unreliable, but I was fine with my hot spot. First impressions are a bit rough for someone used to staying at facilities 3X the price, but once I settled in, I was glad I did.

Disappointing
I really liked the overall aesthetic of the hotel. It was really well designed and very well maintained in terms of cleanliness. My favorite was the lobby.
My flight got in late in the evening and I got to my hotel room in preparation to go out to dinner. After dinner I realized that my room had zero wifi. None what so ever. I let the front desk know and they had me move rooms. I packed all my stuff and moved that night. Shortly after unpacking my bags I relaized that the new room they put me in did not have AC and the front desk did not warn me. It was so hot in San Francisco that weekend too. The hotel offered me to change rooms again but I needed to unpack and then wait in the lobby for a new room. At that point, I didn't want to roulette my chances and I stuck with staying. They got me three fans but still the stay was uncormfortable to say the least.

The room exceeded expectations. I had a room at the end of the hall and it was massive. The biggest hotel room I had ever seen. Bed was so comfy. The room was thoughtfully designed to perfection, the bathroom was spacious and luxurious and had amazing diptique toiletries.
No washroom in lobby, have to go upstairs through the bar to access it. When the bar is closed an employee has to walk you over to the bar and open it up just for you to use the washroom which is kind of an inconvenience. Oh also, they did not offer wine glasses when I wanted to enjoy a bottle of wine in the hotel room, which I mean for being a hotel with a bar you would think the staff would go out of their way to at least get you some wine glasses.
