Wonderful
Location and view. Loved that you could open the windows a crack and get fresh air (rather than ac) and hear the city sounds. Elevator was impressively fast. Enjoyed the hotel’s history display in the lobby.
TP could have been higher quality! Missed having a plain soap bar (boyfriend hated the liquid soap scent and we had to buy a bar of soap at a corner store).

The location
The front desk person was more interested in chit-chatting with certain customer when he could clearly see there was a long line of people waiting to check in. I was then given the wrong room (paid extra for a corner room). They eventually corrected the situation but the experience was more than frustrating.

Classic location for San Fran, and on two street car lines. Top of the Mark is an institution for a cocktail lounge with a wonderful view of city and bay. The cafe was good standard.
Breakfast buffet was huge - but no option for a small and less expensive breakfast.

The location is very central and in a scenic & safe part of town. The views from Top of the Mark is fabulous! We could easily walk to various areas to explore.
There is hardly any extras in the room - a little note to state "call room service if you need anything" Would be nice to have the basic toiletries and slippers already in the room. Also no coffee or tea facilities in the room.
