The noise from outside was very loud all night. Soundproofing was shocking. Housekeeping didn't show one day - and asked reception to organise - and told couldn't be carried out as short staffed. Fire alarm went off and all told to evacuate but saw member of staff half way down and asked him what going on - someone smoking in room but no danger. Went back to room - fire alarm went on again for few seconds. Not once was anything explained over tanhoy to us.

the hotel is nice. Good location. Enjoyed the food at the restaurant . Excellent staff. When traveling for work, I Will enjoy staying at this hotel.
The bar upstairs was way too loud. Music was ridiculously loud. I had to speak loudly so my guests could hear me.

Just an amazing hotel all around. This is the only place I will stay when coming to the city. The staff is incredible, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bar at the top floor is wonderful for appetizers and elevated cocktails. Not to mention you’re a short walk away from union square.

Great location, beautiful building, clean room, friendly staff, well-equipped gym and a penthouse bar with amazing views.
Nothing to dislike. A pool would have been nice but you can’t have it all!

Wonderful
This is a lovely Old World hotel, in a nice location in the historical area of San Francisco. Lots of shopping just outside the door, and a pleasant walk to the sites. The lobby reminds me of great cities in Europe, and the staff were very helpful.

Size of the Deluxe Room
We did not feel valued as guests at this hotel. The staff showed little interest in us and did not observe basic courtesies. Only the cleaning staff in the hallways were friendly and managed to bring a smile to our faces during our stay.
We booked a Deluxe Room with a king-size bed. The room size was perfect; however, it lacked basic amenities such as liquid hand soap and bathrobes, which we would have expected at this level.
We also wanted to celebrate our engagement with a drink at the bar on the 21st floor. At the reception, we were told that no reservation was necessary. However, when we arrived at the bar, we were greeted with amusement and informed that without a reservation, the wait would be several hours, or alternatively, we could stand against a wall to have a drink. Disappointed, we ended our evening early.

The hotel is gorgeous! The room was nice and most of the staff was friendly and helpful
The lady at the front desk was rude. We mentioned we were traveling for our anniversary, and she didn't offer a room upgrade. She gave is 2 drink coupons, but we would have preferred a room on a higher floor, maybe an upgraded room or something.
