The stay starts off with a little historical tour. Rooms are quiet & dark at night. Communal area are lovely and facilitate socializing if you like or relaxing alone time. Loved the secret garden and roof top views.

This place is a hidden gem. Check in and check out times (12) are great as some charge extra for this.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
It is tastefully decorated in Victorian style and seems well cared for, especially the plants!
We love the spiral staircase leading to the roof top lounging area which has a full view of San Francisco all around.
The continental breakfast is a feast supplying above and beyond the usuals until 11a.m.
The garden area is also lovely and has a hot tub.
We like that an envelope for tip is provided so that it gets shared out equally for staff!
It is certainly located well, well for our needs anyway.
We happened to get a small double bed (no fault of the Inn but down to availability I think) and would have probably liked a bit bigger bed so if we book again we will be sure to choose appropriately and perhaps get a larger room.
There is also a delightful hot tub in the lovely garden but the bubble jets were not working so we didn't bother with this but maybe would have liked to.

The Inn San Francisco is an Edwardian delight from carpets and drapes to furnishings and lamps. The Mission District is vibrant with lots of food and entertainment just around the corner.
There are a lot of steps up to the 3rd floor!
