When there was a restaurant that turned into a night club on Friday and Saturday night that our room shared a wall with, the staff accommodated our request to move to a quieter room. The bathroom had a nice shower with good pressure. The bed was comfortable in the 2 bed room.
Hotel Emblem is in an old building built in 1907 with one small elevator. The lobby is more of a reception desk with a bar behind it and a small seating area beyond that. There is no food available in the hotel. There is an adjoining coffee shop open for breakfast and lunch.

The room was very clean and modern (i.e. large flat screen TV, Nespresso with complementary pods, very fast and free wifi, modern bathroom furnishings and temperature control). Great water pressure, no issues with noise, and a Bluestone Lane right downstairs made morning coffee extra convenient.
The location is convenient but downtown SF is not the cleanest or the most charming.

The room is quite dark
The bathroom is cold and this was august. No heating and a draft coming front the window in the bathroom

Friendly staff, convenient location and PCH, a fantastic bar, right next door. We didn't take advantage of the novelty amenities like book delivery but appreciated that they were an option! Would stay here again.

Location was excellent. Room was well maintained every day. Free water availability was most appreciated. Ability to store luggage for a late day flight was most appreciated.
Coffee maker should not be in the wardrobes, or should be moveable for use. Limited storage space.
Rooms vary quite a bit. Front facing rooms are noisy.

This hotel is in a quieter part of the Union Square neighborhood, in a cool historic building, close to multiple transit options. The facilities were nice, and we liked having access to coffee in the lobby to kickstart our day. Would definitely consider it for a return journey!
The bar hours were from 6-10, which made it hard to check out if you happened to be out and about for dinner and afterwards, but there are plenty of options in the neighborhood!

I am absolutely OBSESSED with this property and this is now going to be my go to hotel for San Francisco. Staff was so kind, helpful and accommodating. They literally bend over backwards for their guests. From having a typewriter delivered to your room so you can write a letter to a friend for them to mail off for you, to being brought a book cart to your room for you to check out and if you like the book, you can buy it for 10$ or maybe even just give it to you for free! They will literally bring you anything to your room if they have it. You can even borrow a bike and helmet!
This hotel is so incredibly unique! Each room is just amazing with different details and cute additions, while also following their book theme throughout. I would know because I slept in two different types of rooms; both were different and a delight.

The location is great and the hotel is modern and clean, it is a pet friendly hotel
Since the hotel is a pet friendly, you can smell the pets smell strongly through the AC.
If you have allergies against pet hair/smell i would not recommend it for you.
