Wonderful
A wonderful hotel with old-world European charm. The staff had made the effort to allocate me a quiet room as I requested in advance. The room was comfortable and spacious, even if a little dated. The extra facilities were good, for example an iron and ironing board, plus use of a safety deposit box.
The hotel location in North Beach is excellent although it is on a main road so the front-facing rooms may be noisy (I had a room at the back).
The room felt a little dark so needed stronger overhead electric light.

Location was great. Staff lovely. Comfortable bed.
No tea coffee facilities in room. No kettle. Room was way too small. Very small bathroom. No where to put your toiletries. Had to carry suitcases up flights of stairs. Noisy in early hours of the morning.

Hotel certainly has that bohemian / old san fran style that we were after, and location is excellent on Columbus avenue as close to a lot of things! The decor inside matches the photos, and the place had a real charm to it. The lady that helped us check in was incredibly attentive and helpful.
The rooms are a little dated, but as you see in the photos. And there's not much space in the rooms for luggage so wouldn't stay for too many nights.

Location is often the most important criteria in selecting a place to stay. From that standpoint Hotel Boheme is spectacular. North Beach allows you access to most of the city very easily AND places you in one of the best locations to stay. Great views, great atmosphere, lots of retaurants and bars (day and night). In addition, this is a place that has a personality, a pleasant and welcoming personality. It's quirky, it's charming, and it's comfortable. It's not the Marriott. If you want all angles at 90 degrees, it's not your place, but it will serve your needs and add value in location.
It's a little noisy, no matter what. You're in the center of an active city, so there's noise.
