The staff were friendly and some what helpful.
The "special" views were awful, the pool area was more like a frat house, which made the pool look unclean. The bar/restaurant was OK, but not but the food which was very greasy and made you feel like you'd just ordered from a fast food joint.
The carpet may have been clean but it looked awful and the carpet in the bedroom had shiny crunchy parts in the shape of spilled liquid. We have stayed in the city centre for less with better facilities and felt cleaner.
We won't be back, actually, we won't go to any Holiday Inn ever again.
Next trip to San Francusco we will stay at the Riu, which is only a few hundred dollars more, but breakfast is included, and it is a larger buffet breakfast with more varieties than the one in the Holiday in which is priced at an horrendous price over over $45 (US).per person. Shocking!

The room has passage door to another room, which you can hear people talking from. We didn't have privacy at all. We paid a lot more compared to other hotels but ended up regretting it. The deposit hold took a while to return to my bank, I had to contact hotel manager to escalate.

View was excellent. Close to many sites that we wanted to visit. Secure elevator key access. Quiet. Breakfast was perfect, enjoyed it very much. Parking was secure and safe. Staff was very gracious and helpful.
Parking spaces could be a little wider. Signage could be a bit better on split floor parking.

We like this hotel because of its central location; on-site parking not as pricey as hotels located near wharf, rooms are clean, large Dove soap/shampoo products provided for your convenience instead of small sample sizes, staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a good area, next to cable car line (with no long waiting lines). Nob Hill & Chinatown are a few blocks away. A variety of restaurants, bakeries, drug store are close by.

The location was amazing. Being on the 23rd floor was perhaps quieter than below but was still noisy from the gusts of traffic down below. However having access to places like Japantown and Nob Hill were extremely convenient and comforting.
The fact that Holiday Inn doesn't care about the structural soundness of the bathroom, which clearly started to demonstrate moisture damage, the fact that the building was noisy overall and the fact that the decor was stuck in the 1980s was all worthy of taking note for upgrades. The other bummer was that the coffee and food downstairs was often closed or didn't have a good selection of snacks or conveniences was also pretty lame. Common Holiday Inn you cheapskates! Shame on you.
