Exceptional
Good Central location to everything. Many bars and plenty of eateries around the hotel when you feel like spending some time near by. On site Italian restaurant tasted world class with live music on the piano.
The room is very nice with a comfy bed.

I would really have to be extra picky to find anything negative about the hotel or my stay. The room was beautiful, large, and perfectly clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to everything I needed during my stay. Bed was great, and the towels were large and very soft. Everyone was very responsive and professional to any needs.
Again, I am being extremely picky here, but really, no complaints. Just some things to be aware of. The site advertised blue ray players in the room, which were not available. I always travel with my own, so no problem. The bathrobes offered will not fit a 240 lb man. The shower head adjustment was a little goofy, but we made it work. Also, this is no reflection on the hotel, but note to any travelers who are unfamiliar with San Francisco... if you wish to walk around the area, as i always love to do, taking a right from the park next to the hotel leads you right into the tenderloin district, so venture the opposite direction for your own comfort.

Room size is large and comfortable. Sheets were very nice. Shower with glass sliding doors is very nice.
Water pressure in the shower isn't constant and sometimes you get spurts of colder water while showering.

Nice staff, clean property, good location for our purposes
Extremely noisy; street noise all night, sirens, banging, loud music and voices, even though on the 11th floor. Felt like I was sleeping in the street. Very poorly insulated windows obviously. Also, unable to darken room, due to corner location, two windows had shutters that didn't close completely. Pillows were like rocks, both my spouse and I had difficulty staying in one position long as our ears would start hurting from the hard pillows. Not a good value for price.

Location was good. Room was large and comfortable.
I left a nightgown by mistake and could not communicate with staff for its return. No one answered my calls and no one responded to my email sent to "Lost & Found". So, altough our stay was fine, the customer service was poor.

Disappointing
The Donatello was so close to scoring at least a 9... the room was large and well equipped, the staff all seemed friendly and welcoming, and its location is great.
The Noise! There was a regular burst of noise for a few seconds every minute or so which sounded a bit like a hose pipe spraying on the ductwork. When we put this to the front desk, they said we had been warned of the building works. When we pointed out it occurred at night too, constantly disturbing sleep, then they tried to say it was the street cleaning. When we pointed out this noise occurred 24/7, they agreed it wasn't either of these and plenty of others had commented on this issue too, including the 3 ladies who were also at the front desk at the same time!! While we expect there to be some city noise in a city centre hotel, this, along with the single glazed windows which let a remarkable amount of street noise in (I double checked there wasn't actually a window cracked open as that is how it sounded) is not the standard of a supposedly quality establishment for which we were charged an average of $247 per night.

Wonderful
Location was very central to Union Square, Chintatown. Bed was so very comfortable. Room was spacious and had a microwave and coffee machine. Club floor was great for complimentary tea/coffee everyday.
I couldn't fault anything.
