Public parking recommended extorted $50 from me to retrieve my car. You just lost a customer of thirty years. No valet parking in San Francisco, Awfull!!!!

Room 503, double beds.
I checked into the hotel at approximately 5:30PM to 5:45PM. Room 503 was advertised as a "City View." However, my view was of a brick wall, which I found very disappointing. Time being of the essence, I did not have time to address my disappointment with the view. On my way to the A.C.T., in a passing, I mentioned to the desk attendant that my room did not have a view. With a smile the attendant replied, "None of the rooms have a view."

Loved the response times. The staff were nice, but Steve from concierge went above and beyond. The room is exactly like the photos and very comfortable.
Th surrounding blocks are plagued with homeless people, drug use and poop.

I really enjoyed the old school but updated vibe of this historic San Francisco hotel. If only the walls could talk! The Redwood Room bar is fabulous; we impressed our local friends by hosting them there. The staff was exceptional and gave terrific advice about what to see and do. The room was very comfortable; the bed was perfect and the sheets were very nice and new. The room was quiet because it did not face the street.
The hotel is on the edge of the Tenderloin. It is easily avoidable but we valued that experience as much as anything. We never felt unsafe at any hour. Our room was not cleaned on one day.
