Great location at Union Square. Walkable. Easy access to great restaurants, cable cars and BART.
Nice size free refrigerator in the room.
They have coffee in the lobby. Still, I prefer a kettle and coffee/tea in the room.

Great walking distance to many places! You’re surrounded by A LOT of great shops, restaurants, activities soooo much!! And it feels safe! :) walking at night is not scary!

This is a cozy hotel at Union Square. I requested a quiet room during reservation and got the high floor facing away from the street. The room was PERFECT: comfortable bed, bathroom, work desk and fast wifi for work. They have many delightful touches - wonderful user experience! Lobby has coffee, variety of hot teas, and microwave. I will definitely stay here again!

Still a family owned hotel. Delightful staff, very clean, comfortable beds, wifi good, excellent location, easy access to Union Square and the cable car to the wharf runs right up Powell St in front of hotel. Sears Fine Food restaurant next door offers terrific food, historic interior and also great staff. Bush Market is a great little grocery just a short walk away. Parking costs a fee but is worth the convenience, just half-block away.

Theres no AC on the room, & when i asked the receptionist in a nice way if theres an AC on the room, he responded sarcastically that theres no AC on the building, i was ok with it but the attitude & the way he answer is disappointing. It would feel better if he answered it in a good way!

Location is very convenient. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, authentic and safe. Food can be delivered in the lobby or in your room. Free hot drinks, fresh fruits and cookies in the lobby. There's a bar inside the hotel and a drink coupon you get when you check in.
Room was great, clean and spacious, quiet and comfortable. Bed was comfy. Room decor/design was lovely.
The staff is polite but clearly doesn't really care about you, they're all "very busy looking busy". They will avoid interacting with you if they can. I don't expect fake enthusiasm or special treatment but the basics of hospitality is to be... hospitable. It was not really pleasant to check in or check out, quite cold after long international flights.
In the room: There were several other guests' hairs left behind in the bathroom. The fitted sheet were constantly coming off of the bed.

The view was amazing ? the location was absolutely perfect we walked everywhere!! Took the trolly a couple times. Beautiful rooms. Most of the staff went above and beyond! They had a great valet parking available, that we used the entire weekend. Great price as well. THE TUB WAS THE BEST!!!!!!!!! I absolutely loved the history of the hotel. We had a wonderful time and will be back again hopefully sooner rather than later.
We booked the trip about a month in advance, but the day before the trip we saw rooms advertised for 100$ less than what we paid, so that was a little disappointing.

The cost per night was really good, especially for the location. The pillows were very nice, and the internet was adequate.
The bathroom tub didnt realy drain that well, and the shower water pressure was weaker than I prefer.
