We loved that this was a traditional San Francisco hotel in a great location on Union Square. We particularly liked all the special touches on offer…such as a pillow menu, coffee machine in lobby with delicious cookies and popcorn. We had lots of fun at the bar chatting to Alicia the barmaid.
The corridors could do with a spruce up but understand that’s difficult in an older hotel with so much character.

I liked that the hotel was communicative about there being no AC, that there would be some city noise, that the room would be small, and that the hotel is older.
When I got to the hotel, I got a more fancy vintage vibe, which was cool. During my stay, I found that all of the staff (front desk, cleaning, etc) were very friendly/nice. My room was quite comfortable. The location was also convenient and safe.
The TV didn't work except for YouTube. Additionally, the fan was a little confusing to operate. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. I just don't know if I would pick this hotel during the summer months because I don't know if the ceiling fan would cool off the guests enough then.

The location is unbeatable! From my room, I could enjoy a beautiful view of the entire holiday atmosphere at Union Square.
The staff were very warm and welcoming, and the complimentary biscuits and morning coffee were a lovely touch.
