The room was great for the price. The hotel looked real nice and was close to a great comedy venue. No breakfast, but there were cookies pretty much every morning and sometimes at night.

We had a wonderful stay at the Chancellor Hotel at Union Square. The location is perfect and the staff were friendly. The room was bigger than expected and very clean. Loved the complimentary coffee, tea, cookies, apples, and water. Everything was great – highly recommend!

Location is a big plus. Easy to get to bus, cable car, BART. Stay here saved from walking the steep hill towards Nob Hill. Take the cable car to California St. have stayed here before. No air conditioning in room. Deep tub. Bed was comfortable, pillows were fine didn’t upgrade. Asked for room facing Powell, only heard cable cars a few times, slept with window open. Traffic dies down later at night. You’ll want that window open in summer especially! No extra window for cross breeze. Yes, they supply a table fan and room heater. Didn’t need heater. Also ceiling fan. The room was still warm.
TV didn’t always work. Had to have it serviced. One reason I stayed was to watch any follow up news stories on city events. One day it worked, next night came back later to watch news. Wouldn’t load channels. Desk will get it working, but that was next day. Nice big window only opens a crack. Fire escape stairs outside window. Suppose it’s for safety. Limits airflow in room. Construction going on next door. Only hear thru window but with that being open, started early am.

Well located hotel, with rooms that are fine though a bit dated. Complimentary cookies and hot drinks available 24/7 are a nice touch. Friendly and helpful staff.
