Loved the 24/7 cookies! I appreciated the pillow menu and how available the staff have been with our requests. The room was nice, and I enjoyed being right next to union square
The room and the bed were smaller than I've experienced in the rest of the US, but perhaps it's normal in San Francisco

Charming historic hotel, homey and well maintained for the age.
No A/C. Looking back at the listing, this detail is mentioned but it’s tucked away in the collapsed ‘important info’ section. The room was so hot and stuffy and there was no screen on the window. It’s 2025, there are many ways to retrofit historic buildings with basic amenities. I have stayed in much older that had air conditioning so while I appreciate the boutique nature of this place, I would avoid it in August.

Classic art deco hotel moments from Union Square, bar with happy hour, complimentary warm salty popcorn, fruit, tea and coffee, water station and cookies
Staff are all friendly and helpful dedicated to making your stay as comfortable as possible
Great water pressure too in shower
Rooms don’t have air conditioning but that is to be expected and they have ceiling fans and window can be opened if needed to keep you cool

Great location near to Union Square. Near to the cable car. We walked to Fishermans wharf and it was not far.
Room was comfortable and staff very friendly. The coffee and cookies was a nice addition .

I thought they had breakfast, but actually they don’t. They have fresh cookies, coffee and tea whole day long!

Good very central location. Very old building, but nicely modernized. Complimentary coffee, filtered water, cookies were a nice touch. Clean, comfortable room.

The hotel rooms were clean, very comfortable beds, well stocked amenities, and friendly staff. The location was excellent so close to eateries, pharmacy, the cable car/tram ride and other shops.
