Really charming interior, decently priced in a pretty expensive city. Bed was great, bathroom was large and quite nice.
Interior was more interesting than most. Location is alright, but can turn intense if you're not careful.
Thin windows in an area fairly close to Tenderloin means lots of sirens throughout the day and a bit at night. Street noise is also quite loud, but mostly calmed down at night. Strong smell of weed in the hall wasn't the best.

We love this old hotel. It's older and not perfect, but it has a special old world charm AND a lovely lobby. We have stayed here no less than 10 times. The staff is welcoming, gracious, and responsive. It is not a chain hotel either . Wine and cheese in the afternoon Self serve breakfast in the lobby. A bargain fof SF

The building is super old so I get it, but the bathroom situation was a little frustrating. It was really hard to get water that would not be freezing cold or burn your skin off.

the size of the rooms is good.
the location is in a poorly maintained part of the city with social issues. This caused alot of noise, fighting and alarms being triggered throughout the night. Not at all restful.

Great location. Close walk to many attractions. Good price, classic old school feel. Room was clean and staff were friendly.
The area is a little gritty, but mind yourself and you will have no issues. This place is not fancy but comfortable and well maintained.

Staff were lovely. They provided complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon tea and wine. Also facilitated luggage storage.
There was nothing I didn’t like. It is an old building and does look a bit tired but if it were refurbished it would spoil the character of the place. Personally I prefer this to a modern chain hotel.
