Located in the center of Downtown, Per La, Autograph Collection is a hotel inspired by the building in which it’s housed. Originally the Bank of Italy, a historic 12-story building on the corner of Olive and 7th Street, the space is a symbol of inclusion and accomplishment. All rooms feature original artwork from a Paris-based design studio and are dressed in custom-designed furnishings and luxury linens. Many include standalone pedestal bathtubs and separate rooms for wash closets. Rooms also include desks, a fully stocked mini-bar, toiletries, and bathrobes. Guests can utilize the 24-hour fitness or lounge in the rooftop pool and bar. Understaffed. Paper thin walls. Restaurant was slow but tried their best due to short staffing. Pool furniture needs updating. Bar staff were incredible Saturday night shout out to the bartender she is amazing!

This is my 2nd time staying at this hotel and the experience was pretty consistent - friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness, swimming pool with rooftop views, delicious breakfast at the restaurant and good food and drinks at the rooftop bar
There was a small issue with the room I'd initially booked not being available, but the staff made sure it's resolved to my satisfaction, which I appreciate

Overall experience (room, cleanliness, service by the reception) was solid. Particularly, I liked the bathtub and shower (and its water pressure).
Very expensive for what you get, everything is rather dated, and the TV in particular doesn't support streaming services, that means no Netflix, no YouTube, and that's in Los Angeles (!). City View means to look at one abandoned building on the opposite site. The pretty lobby/lounge, café and restaurant were closed to the guests during my stay – there was no compensation for that. Guests were asked to take the side entrance.

My stay at Hotel Per La, Autograph Collection was disappointing from start to finish. One of the reasons I chose this property was the chic coffee lounge that was prominently featured in the hotel's marketing and amenities. Unfortunately, it was closed due to filming during my stay, and this was never disclosed prior to arrival or at check-in. I was also surprised by the room service experience. Considering the prices charged, having meals delivered in a brown paper bag with to-go containers and plastic silverware felt more like takeout delivery than room service at a boutique hotel. When a hotel markets premium amenities and experiences, guests should be informed when those amenities are unavailable. The experience simply did not match the expectations set by the hotel's advertising or pricing.

Location is sketchy. Dark themed hallways and corridors. Like a W hotel decorated for Victorian era. Shower is like a fire hose. Entrance is a maze...why is it so meandering???

An older hotel with spacious rooms, great bathrooms, lots of character. In fact during our stay a film was being shot at the hotel, which made the main restaurant and on-site cafe unavailable but the roof terrace bar/restaurant was open for breakfast and lunch, and was lovely with great views. The location is great, the staff super-helpful, and walking distance from great restaurants and The Last Bookstore and the LA Main library, and an easy drive/ride to LA Symphony Hall, the Broad Museum and others. I personally preferred this hotel to the super modern ones like the Omni (although the Omni is truly great as well). Great value for downtown LA.
As I mentioned earlier, the filming at the time restricted some facilities (including the gym), and the WiFi was not great this time compared to a previous stay. Maybe also related to the filming? We had two rooms: one was quite dark and we thought of asking for an extra lamp but our son preferred it that way, do we switched rooms. Ours was very well lit and very large, but a bit loud with street noise (on second floor). They did provide ear plugs in every room.
