room was up graded due to our last trip not going so well,
bed was too hard, no topper or anything added for extra cushioning, had to pay resort fees of $82.00 after all was said and done extra.

Very convenient to downtown. Beautiful lobby and the restaurant is pretty good.
The bed was NOT comfortable and room was very small. Also note that there are additional fees that are not clear such an incidental + resort fees.

Beautiful building central great staff great food great bar
It was very busy, too crowded, might have been because of the Labor Day weekend. I like places that are not too popular.

Its location is prime, especially as guests that were there for the WNBA game.
The deposit was nearly as much as the room itself. 278 for a room, 200 for the deposit of the room? Egregious as an establishment that points to a history of inclusivity and access.

Why Hotel Figueroa? I like old, classic hotels, the daily rate was reasonable, and it’s across the street from LA Live, where Crypto.com Arena is located. There are nicer options, including the Ritz-Carlton, the JW Marriott adjacent to LA Live but the room rates for those properties were two to three times what I paid.
The hotel was constructed in 1925, and you can see that in the layout. There are stairways in the halls to take you from floor to floor. That was faster than waiting for one of the two elevators servicing the building. The layout of the building reminds me of the St. Francis in San Francisco … The building looks like the letter E, with three wings connected at one end. There are a bar and restaurant on the ground level inside the building and there is another bar and the swimming pool at the West end of the building. Someone said there’s a rooftop bar, but I didn’t go and check it out.
My room (624) was at the southwest corner of the hotel. You entered a somewhat narrow living room. To the left was a recess for a bar and refrigerator. A glass-paneled door led to the bedroom. Inside the bedroom was a king bed, two chairs and a small table near the windows. At the other end was another glass-paneled door leading to the bathroom. To the right of the door were wooden doors to a very deep closet with a two-drawer bureau. The security safe was mounted on the shelf above the clothes rod. Hah, I couldn’t see inside the safe as it was at eye level for someone much taller than me
The bathroom featured two more doors; one on the left led to the toilet; one on the right led to a very large walk-in shower. Between then was a double vanity with storage underneath. The shower featured a rain head and a separate wand. Hot water came quickly and I found the controls intuitive, but there was a placard showing how to use the controls on the right side of the vanity.
What did I miss? No Toto washlet and no lighted makeup mirror (I needed more light for shaving).
On my second visit to Cafe Fig, I ordered the Veggie Breakfast. Two eggs, a grilled Portobello mushroom cap, sliced avocado, six grilled cherry tomatoes, sauteed spinach, a piece of sourdough toast, a block of feta, and containers of butter and catsup. With coffee, this cost $39.47, including tax and 20% tip. This breakfast caused me distress … Whether it was too much oil, the butter, or the feta … I was ill for 2 hours afterward. Note to self: Do not order this breakfast again.
