Wonderful
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was clean. Shower was nice and hot. Bed was comfortable. Good cable with sports and movies. Refreshing pool for some laps and great jacuzzi.
Had a corner room which was slightly louder than previous rooms with morning traffic. But good curtains and climate control.

Rooms were very clean, beds incredibly comfy. Facilities were great, pool, terrace area and gym all really clean and lovely. Location super easy to get to beaches/shops and LAX. Shuttle ran to manhattan beach but had rental car
Only very small thing is that the curtains were not designed to close over the window. Only net curtains to shut out light

Everything was perfect.. We ❤️ Luv staying at this location. The staff is AWESOME, especially the front desk manager Tim.. If he's not the manager he should be. He represents Ayres Hotel..

Pleasant
Great location, nice decor.
Wet carpet and musty smell in room from the air conditioner. Notified staff, they said they would send maintenance. When we returned, it was still wet and smelly. For the price and location, I expected more from them. Also, the kitchen it is under construction, so the restaurant is closed. Expected better based on ratings. At least on check out, they finally offered some resolution to this issue. Also, parking is via a separate service, so it was not very convenient upon check-in as staff does not take payment. Payment has to be done online.

Easy check-in with helpful helpful front desk staff. Late check-out approval was obtained and the extra cost was reasonable.
The room was quiet despite being next to a major road and freeway. The pool area was tidy with plenty of seating areas for guests. Liked the microwave in the room.
Would have preferred complimentary car parking however the cost of this was reasonable. The parking app did not work with an international phone number. The aircon unit was noisy and had to be turned off at night for me to get any sleep.

I liked the fact I was able to check in early. That helped us so much before our concert!
I didnt like that they put us in a room next to another room that was being worked on. The banging started at 7 am an work us up. We came in really late an wanted ro sleep longer.

The room was very large. The staff was lovely. Parking and room were affordable. It had a fridge and microwave. Easy drive to the Long Beach Park and Ride.
My window was facing the 405 freeway and it was loud all night long. The walls were paper thin as well. I could hear all my neighbors conversations clearly. Pillows were lumpy. Bathroom floor was sticky. Accommodation wise, this was definitely not a 4-star hotel as advertised, in my opinion.

Disappointing
Room was big, bed was really confortable.
TV remote control was filthy and gross . Parking to expensive. Overheard staff members making inappropriate comments over guests.

The room was spacious, clean, and very quiet – ideal for resting after a long journey. The location was convenient.
The overall experience did not match the expectations set by a hotel that presents itself as a "palace".
Upon arrival, the first impression was far from welcoming. The front desk receptionist appeared either deeply unhappy or severely underpaid. Instead of a warm “welcome”, the very first thing she told us was that any damage to the room would be charged directly to our credit card. That’s not how you greet a traveler who just flew nearly 20 hours to reach your establishment.
I wasn’t expecting luxury service – but I was traveling with 7 large suitcases filled with professional equipment, and I had to haul them all myself using a hotel trolley. (hotel promotes itself as a “palatial experience)
Then came breakfast or what I’d rather call a scavenger hunt. I was already hungry from the night before (the hotel offered no food not even snacks). In the morning, I asked reception about breakfast and was misdirected to different areas of the property (the receptionist herself didn’t know where it was). Eventually, I found it a sad table with a thermos of coffee and some puff pastries in a basket.
Upon check-out, I asked for a proper invoice for business purposes. I was told to “request it through Booking.com”. I did. No reply. I followed up. Still nothing. I even called the hotel directly – they hung up on me. Booking.com's own customer support has since tried to help, but even they can’t get a response from the property.
Summary of my stay:
This hotel may look like an European palace, but I strongly suggest the owner take a real trip to Europe and stay at a few smaller hotels to understand what true hospitality, support, and guest experience actually mean. Would I stay again? Maybe – the room was quiet and clean. But if you arrive hungry, want breakfast the next day, or need a business invoice afterward, be aware: those things aren’t part of the royal treatment in this California palace.
