Extremely Disappointing Experience – Unacceptable and Unprofessional
I honestly don’t even know where to begin. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
We arrived in Los Angeles around 11 PM after a long day of traveling, only to be told upon arrival at Hyatt Place LAX El Segundo that there was no room available for us because the hotel was overbooked.
We had booked and PAID for our room TWO MONTHS in advance. How is it even possible for a hotel to give away a room that was reserved and paid for so far ahead of time?
What makes this situation even more unbelievable is that, earlier that evening, I received the following text message from the hotel:
“Good evening! This is the Front Desk at Hyatt Place LAX El Segundo. We’re looking forward to welcoming you and wanted to confirm whether you’ll be arriving tonight. If so, please let us know your estimated arrival time. Thank you, and safe travels!”
So the hotel was expecting us, contacted us to confirm our arrival, and yet somehow had no room for us when we showed up.
The most disappointing part of this entire experience was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and customer service from the front desk staff.
The woman working at the front desk seemed completely uninterested in our situation. She showed absolutely no concern for the fact that we were stranded in Los Angeles late at night, without accommodation, despite having a confirmed and prepaid reservation.
No apology that felt genuine. No alternative accommodation arranged. No assistance whatsoever. We were simply left to figure everything out on our own.
We had to go from hotel to hotel in the middle of the night, desperately trying to find somewhere to stay. We were told that hotels in the area were fully booked because of a major concert taking place in Los Angeles.
We were essentially left on the street at night, in a city we were visiting, with our luggage and nowhere to sleep.

The water pressure was really nice. After a long day, it helped relax us.
There were black ants in the shower. A little were on the bed. Thankfull not that many but they were still there.
