The location is perfect for driving up to the Aquarium and for walks to the more touristy parts of Monterey. The room was clean and quiet. We were here during autumn, so didn't really take advantage of the beautiful pool area, but the set-up of the interior yard I bet is great during summer!

Booking.com upgraded us with rooms with views of the bay.
The in-room coffee was flavorless and wimpy. Because we got up too early for the breakfast coffee, we had to make our own bad in-room coffee with white stuff. You might consider at least leaving a few small containers of the half-and-half in the mini-fridge - you know, the ones you offer with breakfast. To be fair, most hotels are offering this tasteless prepackaged coffee now, but a hotel that has good in-room coffee goes up star or two in my book.
