The staff at the desk was very pleasant and helpful. Helped me open my room door, and told me about the breakfast and if I need anything call him.
The only thing I didn't like was not having a chair to sit. It's hard for me to stand when I get dressed. The bed is sort of high due to my height, don't get me wrong, the bed is fine, it's easier for me to sit in a chair and dress due to my disabilities. But overall, it was great!

Disappointing
It had a bed and the shower was hot. I needed those things. And it was relatively close to the Berkeley campus and that is what I needed.
I was NEVER ALONE in the room I booked for 1 person. The roaches in the room kept me surprise company. I would have preferred not to have crawlies in my room.

The lady at the front desk was so sweet and helpful, breakfast was OK, nice coffee machine.
The toilet ran all day and night.

Fab location (relative to University access). Very well appointed room - nothing fancy, but clean sheets, bathroom, fridge, microwave, closet space, luggage space, strong wifi. Pretty great for the price
Zero ambience. If you are in your room, it's fine. If you want to hang and soak the vibe from where you are staying, this is not your place

Their front desk gal who works the swing shift really goes above and beyond. She is so friendly, helpful and wonderful.
it wasn't necessarily a dislike, we just stayed in the carpeted rooms this time and prefer the ones without they seem even cleaner.

The room was nice enough, excactly what you'd expect in the price range. Nothing fancy, but perfectly servicable and clean. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
The 'free breakfast" is bad compared to other hotels with free breakfast. Just packaged danish and coffee, basically. And there isn't enough parking in the lot, I had to do street parking at meters which was a hassle.

Disappointing
The location. Having a bathtub. A TV that works. Enough light. Enough electric sockets to charge my phone and iPad.
My advice is to check in and not take the initiative to befriend front desk staff, and have them befriend you. What looks like kindness is actually baiting you to get something in return. I had a situation with front desk person AJ, or is it CJ, seemed thoughtful to try and help a disabled person get something to eat. I contributed to the cause. When I asked a few days later if he was able to help anyone else in need, he said no, not yet. I had already had a bad suspicion a few days later, call it intuition, that he didn't do what I asked him to do, and said to him hey, If you don't mind I know someone who can use it. He said oh, I don't know what I did with it, I'll have to find it. It was a huge financial gift card, for him to give to anyone else at the motel who might be hungry, as this is common here, when the helping guests might mean you'll have to return a favor if you get too chill with them, , and he made it clear he was well off, and assured me someone in need would receive it. The next day, my room key wasn't working, he claimed to have reset my card for my extra day I paid for, and on that next day, I had to wait longer than the be back in ten minutes sign, more like a half an hour unable to get into my room again, then finally I saw him in the office. So I went to have my room key redone, and he says, by the way I gave that gift to my girlfriend. I was pissed, and he knew that, because they are well off as far as nir needing food.. He even told me he was going to make sure someone in need would definitely get it. Why you gotta lie, bro!! That card wasn't for your girlfriend!!!! The truth is, I learned a hard lesson, once you give someone something it's no longer about having control what they do with it. This was a very rare occasion where my gift giving had a stipulation. And, I was very specific for what it was for, and he assured me he would do so.
