Wonderful
A beautiful building in lovely surroundings. Enjoyed the spa facilities and pool. The weather was hot & sunny so it was nice to have the loungers out in the garden and enjoy the outdoor hot tub.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic as they kept running out of things such as the eggs and fruit. Only one chef who was over worked.

Hello there after some from traumatic life events and ill health and also my only daughters 18 th birthday . I wanted us to have a break from our unsafe home and have a break from living in fear as it was my Wonderful daughter’s big eighteenth birthday . Sadly our experience wasn’t one I would like to repeat. I don’t have a lot of money and when I have stayed years ago on several occasions it was lovely . However this was underwhelming for us all .
The cleanlieness, access to water with appropriate equipment and water flow . Many more things I haven’t got the energy to list as I’m disabled also .

Staff were so friendly and efficient. Spa was amazing and treatments were really good, had back massage and facial. Good value for money. Restaurant food (lunch and dinner) outstanding.

Close proximity to surrounding area.
Not expensive given the location.
Staff were not particularly friendly/ talkative except from one delightful waitress at dinner.
The price for a child to have breakfast @ £18 each is a little over the top especially for a 2 year old who had a banana and some Nutella.
The breakfast selection was poor and unappealing especially the fruit salad being served in a giant plastic tub. In hindsight if we had viewed the breakfast selection we would not have paid £72 for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 2&4) we would have gone into Ascot or Windsor for something.
Cleanliness of the changing room in particular the drain outlets in the Showers and centre changing area

Disappointing
Restaurant and Bar Staff attentive and great with children. Food was enjoyable.
Deluxe Family room this was not. Room 162 in need of modernising. 2 x pull out beds held together with torn bedsheets under the mattress . Extremely uncomfortable for my children. Stone Bath surround split and about to fall out, shower screen seal leaking putting water all over the bathroom floor . When i spoke to reception at check out to advise this was not Deluxe in my opinion there was not much in the way of explanation . I then asked them to look at some pictures and presented pictures of the beds, at which point they seem interested. I’m Still awaiting contact from the hotel.

The spa is lovely and beautiful building. Comfy beds
Loud footsteps and fellow guests kept us awake, struggled to sleep. Staff weren’t very accommodating to my request. (It was our anniversary). Room was boiling and air con didn’t work and our room was next to the generator so loud from that as well.

Beautiful location, lovely rooms and lovely dining area and spa
A member of the staff on reception was incredibly rude, consistently - so much so that she was mentioned by several other guests in conversations. A couple of the bar staff were rude and unhelpful too, and one of the staff at the spa desk was rude too. The staff in the dining area were lovely and the gentleman at reception was very nice!

Location, swimming pool very convenient and lovely grounds to relax in with the good weather, Breakfast and wine. Beautiful enterance/ reception area and building to look at from the exterior.
Air conditioning and fan for the bathroom extremely loud and ineffective. Room, worn and unkept (paint peeling from radiator and heavily marked walls. Staff, busy, and I’m sure unintentionally not as welcoming as expected.

The food itself from the restaurant was to a good standard and tasted very good.
The service in the restaurant was below expectations both in the evening and at breakfast. Half of the drinks on the menu were not available, staff were rude. Room was very run down, old fashioned and dated, so was pool area - needs considerable updating. Dirty, grout missing, decking rotted out, mould. Was not up to the standard for the price and I was looking forward to the high standard from the photos. Aircon in room was extremely noisy and didn’t work well - was 27 degrees and windows only opened partially so had to have it on. Very disappointed with our stay for a birthday surprise and now reluctant to visit another MacDonald hotel from this experience.
