The bedroom was a good size, it was myself, my husband and my 3 year old so we needed a family room. There were 2 double beds which fitted us perfectly - my 3yr old loved the big bed! Bathroom clean, bedroom clean, comfy beds, enough pillows, fluffy towels, staff perfectly pleasant, got a 10% off food and drinks voucher for their bar next door which was nice! Not a massive menu or drinks option at the Orrest Head Bar, but nice enough. I'd not realised the hotel restaurant was open or I'd have tried in there instead! Tea and coffee in the bedroom. Good spot for Windermere and we got a parking space at 6 for the night.
No major issues, we were in what I presume is a slightly newer extension part from the rest of the hotel, as it was a bit of a rabbit warren to get to our room but it was well signposted. I think the floors/walls are a bit thinner as I could hear people walking above, could hear people in the corridor (but that was their fault not particularly the hotels) but nothing that kept me awake. We had to put the TV plug into a different socket as it wasn't working but that wasn't a huge inconvenience. I would just suggest perhaps biscuits/hot chocolate option in the room? But I know for hospitality everything is so expensive nowadays!

We had dinner bed & breakfast but kitchen closed very early at 7.30 pm & dinner was very rushed, had to order all three courses at once & then had them fired at us in quick succession. Not very relaxing, we went to celebrate a family occasion so it was very disappointing.
Not very happy at having to pay 24 to park at the hotel after paying a considerable amount for our stay

The room we stopped in had a lake view as stated and was clean and tidy, however the breakfast was not acceptable for the price paid. The first morning we went down for our breakfast and where disappointed. There where no choice of eggs only scrambled egg that looked unappealing and undercooked, cheap tasting sausages and bacon, the hash browns where soggy. I had some toast along side this and while I was still eating the waiter tried to remove my plate and took my partners which I thought was very rude.
We left and found a lovely coffee shop to eat in and didnt bother to even go for breakfast on the second morning

Old fashioned, 25 minute walk away from Bowness, loud, could hear everything from the rooms around you, cold, room wasnt cleaned properly before we arrived

The hotel is located in an area of outstanding beauty within 5-minute walk from local amenities pubs restaurants beautiful place
Poor kept Hotel in a state of disrepair. Room felt damp.
Breakfast was poor buffet style breakfast was overcooked and cold scrambled egg look like off milk.
Hotel had a infestation of wasps informed staff but didn't seem bothered.

Location is superb, lots to do and see, staff were lovely nothing was a problem. Will stay again. We appreciated the extra safety rail's in the smart bathroom. Food was good, plenty of choice.

Excellent location.
We took our dogs so cudnt have the superior room I had originally booked the room we had was very dated and scruffy in fact the whole section were we stayed was dirty and needed painting. Was not what I expected for the price

It was like sleeping in a sauna. The rooms were very dated. The breakfast was cold. Shouldnt have to pay for parking when paying so much for a hotel.
